Sailor Moon in India

Sailor Moon in India refers to the version of the Sailor Moon anime which was translated into Gujarati and aired in the Gujarat state of India under the title Sailormoon.

Translation and Channels

All five seasons were shown on ETV (now Colors Gujarati) from late 2009 until 2015.

Censorship and Changes

• Most transformation and attack phrases were left unchanged.

• Similar to the Albanian dub, the dubbing studio did not buy the rights from TOEI or another rights holding company. Music was re-used in order to cover the parts where the characters were speaking.

• The opening sequence with "Moonlight Densetsu" was used for all five seasons. The music was slightly altered and the lyrics dubbed into Gujarati. Two versions were used, each performed by different singers.
