Silver Moon Crystal Power, Make Up was one of two commands that Usagi Tsukino used to transform into Eternal Sailor Moon in the reprint manga (the other being Moon Eternal, Make Up), and the only command she used in the tankoubon manga and Sailor Moon Crystal.

The first animated version of this transformation was used when Usagi transformed to fight Sailor Iron Mouse in the first part of Sailor Moon Cosmos. The Eternal Moon Article appeared and its lid opened, revealing the crystal inside; Usagi brushed her hand past the crystal and it flashed, emitting several multicolored light orbs before it finally released an opalescent star. The golden crescent moon symbol on Usagi's forehead turned pastel rainbow-colored and emitted light beams of the same colors that eventually coalesced and hid her from view, then dissolved to show the golden crescent symbol again. With the Article affixed to her chest, Usagi extended her arms and released a flurry of feathers, which swirled through the air as she spun around, then spread her arms to either side as translucent pink ribbons appeared to form her gloves, before vanishing in a swirl of feathers. One of her wings then spread out, releasing more feathers. As Usagi turned around, pink ribbons wrapped around her legs and formed her boots, vanishing in another flurry of feathers. Eternal Sailor Moon then appeared wearing her brooch, gloves, boots, wings and back waist ribbons, lifting her arms and leaning her upper body back, before she drew her arms back down and turned, as pink ribbons emitted from the Article and wrapped around her body. In a swirl of feathers, Eternal Sailor Moon appeared in full sailor fuku and turned to show the symbol on her forehead once again, now changing from pastel rainbow-colored to golden. She spun around several times, then leaned her upper body forward with her arms spread in front of her. She drew her upper body and legs closer together while drawing her arms backwards, then landed on her feet, bending forward and reaching for the floor with her arms, before straightening again and assuming her final pose as golden light radiated from her forehead.

Silver Moon Crystal Power, Make Up in Crystal (version 2)

The second animated version was used when Usagi transformed to fight Sailor Aluminum Seiren; it was very similar to when Eternal Sailor Moon first appeared in Sailor Moon Eternal, and was therefore very brief. In that version, the Holy Moon Cálice appeared, accompanied by several flashing multicolored light orbs. In a flash of white light that covered Usagi in shifting colors, an opalescent crescent moon symbol appeared on her forehead and turned gold, as white feathers drifted by. The light covering Usagi faded and she opened her eyes before closing them again, her arms crossed behind white feathered wings that hid her body from view. Her wings spread out and Eternal Sailor Moon stretched out her arms upward, as she appeared in full sailor fuku with a flash of glitter. White feathers then flew off her costume and briefly hid Eternal Sailor Moon from view. She turned around and her Eternal Moon Article flashed. More feathers briefly hid her from view again, then Eternal Sailor Moon turned around once more and assumed her final pose. That sequence, minus the appearance of the Cálice, reappeared in the second part of the movie when Usagi transformed after regaining her memories that the River of Forgetfulness had erased, but this time she did not call out the transformation phrase.

Silver Moon Crystal Power, Make Up in Crystal (version 3)

The third animated version was used when Usagi transformed in Ichinohashi Park when the Sailor Starlights, Sailor Chibi Chibi Moon, Princess Kakyuu, and she resolved to visit Miranda Castle, Triton Castle, and Charon Castle in the second part of the movie. The Eternal Moon Article appeared and its lid opened, revealing the crystal inside; Usagi brushed her hand past the crystal and it flashed, emitting several multicolored light orbs before it finally released an opalescent star. A rainbow-colored crescent moon symbol on Usagi's forehead appeared while emitting light beams of the same colors, then released a flurry of rainbow-colored hearts. Her eyes blinked open and she spun around several times, before the brooch on her chest emitted translucent pink ribbons that wrapped around her body, forming her leotard and vanishing in a flash of white light accompanied by white feathers flying off. She then spread her arms to either side and spun around, as more ribbons wrapped around them to form her gloves, before vanishing in another flurry of multicolored feathers. She leaned her upper body back and lifted one leg high in the air, ribbons forming a boot before they vanished with more opalescent feathers. Eternal Sailor Moon then stood upright again, drawing one leg closer to her body while laying her hands on the respective knee, as rainbow-colored feathers floated around her. She turned around and extended the leg she had been bending as well as her arms, and the feathers around her dissolved and became her skirt. Eternal Sailor Moon appeared in full sailor fuku and her wings were added in a flash of white light and feathers flying off. She turned around and her odango covers, barrettes, earrings, and choker appeared, then turned around once more and assumed her final pose.

Trivia[edit]

  • In the song "Ai wo Shinjiteru," which was written by Naoko Takeuchi, Usagi called out "Silver Moon Crystal Power" several times, which was possibly a reference to this phrase.
  • In the second animated version of this transformation, before Usagi spread out her wings, she was already wearing the Super Sailor Moon odango covers, barrettes, earrings, choker, sailor collar, and shoulder pads.
  • In the third animated version, while Usagi was holding still as pink ribbons emerged from the Eternal Moon Article on her chest to form her leotard, her pigtails were also stationary, but then a second pair of pigtails briefly started waving in front of them.
