Submarine Violon Tide was an attack used by Sailor Neptune in the manga, musicals, and Crystal.
In the manga version of this attack, she used her violin, a Stradivarius violin she had named the "Marine Cathedral," to create a tide of energy that would wash toward her target. She only used it once, in conjunction with Sailor Uranus' Space Turbulence against Sailor Iron Mouse's Galactica Crunch, but as Iron Mouse blocked both attacks and Sailor Neptune's attack never appeared on its own, the exact strength and effects of it were unknown.
The attack appeared in the first part of Sailor Moon Cosmos as in the manga. In that version, white glowing five-lined musical staffs with notes would appear, then Sailor Neptune spun around playing the violin, as she was surrounded by more staffs. The staffs then coalesced at her violin to form a white-ringed sphere of blue energy that rushed towards her target and trailed another staff as well as water and pink glowing musical notes behind it. In that continuity, however, Submarine Violon Tide and Space Turbulence were able to defeat Galactica Crunch.
Trivia[edit]
- "Violon" is the French word for "violin."
- The literal meanings of the kanji characters used in the name of this attack in the manga are "deep sea" (深海), "violin" (提琴), and "tide" (潮流).
- While Sailor Neptune was being controlled by Sailor Galaxia in Act 58 of the manga and Sailor Moon Cosmos, she performed a version of this attack called Galactica Violon Tide.
