I'm confused by the most recent trivia note - I compared the original and reprint manga, and the only difference I see is in the shape of the crystal on the Moon Stick. There's no "redesign" here? Kerochan no Miko (talk) 19:54, 21 November 2023 (EST)

The trivia note isn't about QS's Moon Stick in the original vs. reprint or it being "redesigned," it's about the fact that within the reprint manga, QS's Moon Stick (which had these little ribbon thingies at the base of the crescent moon) did not look like the Moon Stick from the previous manga arcs. You basically need to compare any chapter from the first arc that features SM's Moon Stick to QS's Moon Stick in this chapter. In the shinsouban, these two don't look the same. The design with the ribbons was the original design of the tankoubon, which inspired the 90s anime Moon Stick (though the anime version was a lot more detailed), but the design was then changed for the shinsouban and now looks more like the Moonlight Stick in PGSM, which was then used for Crystal - except for the fact that in Eternal, it had the ribbons again. I initially assumed that when Naoko revised the manga for the shinsouban release she simply forgot to change the Moon Stick's design in this chapter only, and that mistake was carried over to Eternal, but... she didn't. In the shinsouban version of Act 48, the Moon Stick looks the detailed anime version rather than the much more simple tankoubon design. So, she did redraw the Stick, but so that it looks like the anime version, not the PGSM one? Either way, QS apparently wields a different-looking Moon Stick than SM, but - and this is where it gets even weirder - I also remember there being an image of Queen and Princess Serenity (QS holding a Moon Stick) in the Infinity arc of the manga and the third season of Crystal. I can't find the chapter/episode anymore, but I found a screenshot of the scene in Crystal, and in that scene QS's Moon Stick looks like the PGSM one. I'm taking back the bit about the Moon Stick in Act 48 having been redrawn to be more detailed like in the anime. I didn't look carefully enough and, as you say, in the tankoubon and shinsouban versions of this chapter the Moon Stick looks exactly the same, so it has always been that detailed in this Act. So, it's still possible that Naoko forgot to redraw the Stick in that chapter to match the PGSM design. My remaining points still stand tho. PrinceEarth (talk) 11:58, 22 November 2023 (EST)

Are you trying to highlight the fact that, when Naoko redrew the Moon Stick for Princess Serenity to match the PGSM version, she left the OG version that Queen Serenity used unchanged? Because if so, that's not at all what I'm getting from what's written here (hence the confusion) and it's better mentioned on the Moon Stick article and not here. Yes, that is what I tried to convey! I'm honestly a little surprised my trivia note created that confusion, since I didn't mention the tankoubon at all and tried to be specific about the edition of the manga I'm referring to just for the sake of not generalizing all these different versions, but looking back on it I can kind of see where you are coming from... yeah, that note could use some rewording and being moved to the more appropriate article.
