Talk:Lazurite Crystal
This page including some big problem.
In the Manga, Sailor Galaxia's Sailor Crystal is 青金石 lazurite(lapis lazuli). Its reading is "サッファ─(SAHUAA)" in Japanese.(Sapphire is サファイア in Kana and 靑玉 in Kanji.)
Therefore, this page is far from galaxia's real Sailor Crystal, サッファ─. So I think following passage needs to correct too.
"The stone itself appeared to be red or orange in color. This might be counter intuitive, considering the most common color association for sapphires is blue, but sapphires do come in a range of colors indluding red; these gems are known as 'fancy sapphires.'[1]"--Endy 12:13, 3 June 2007 (MST)
- Your note here is a little hard to understand, but I believe you're trying to say that the "Sapphire Crystal" is really the "Lapis Lazuli Crystal"? I reverted the changes you made to the trivia note because I want to suggest some other changes.
- I propose that this article be moved from "Sapphire Crystal" to "Saffer Crystal," as "Saffer" fits the katakana spelling, and it is also an old English word that could refer to either sapphire or lapis lazuli. As such, the trivia note in question could merely be modified to mention both possibilities. Kerochan no Miko 16:02, 3 June 2007 (MST)
- Thank you for your understanding. Actually, I'm not good at English XP.
- Well, like your comment, I want to say that Galaxia's Sailor Crystal is not the Sappahire but Lapis Lazuli. So I agree to your suggestion. But at least I think the reference site needs to change.--Endy 23:22, 3 June 2007 (MST)
After coming back to this and researching the name today, I'm starting to think that "Saffer Crystal" isn't the right name for this article, because what Naoko intended by pronouncing it "サッファー" is really, really unclear. We could always just call it the Lazurite Crystal, since that's the latest official Kodansha translation, but was there anything in the Cosmos visual book that gave more information on it? Maybe we should just see what Viz calls it in the Cosmos dub. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 23:58, 7 August 2023 (EDT)
- Now that Cosmos has made it official, I propose that this article be moved to Lazurite Crystal. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 23:30, 22 August 2024 (EDT)
