Talk:Sailor Moon in Sweden

From WikiMoon
Jump to: navigation, search

Ok, here's a first preliminary version of this page. There's plenty of more material I could pour in there, but it's perhaps easy to over-saturate the subject. ^_^
Anyway, I based the tables on the ones found in the France and Thailand entries (btw, I tried putting the bulletted text under the tables beside them, but then the bullets disappeared). I'd welcome more input on how to structure the article as such, though, both technically (those tables...) and from an information viewpoint (a "Sailor Moon in..." article could cover local merchandise, fandom and whatnot, but I've only written about the TV dub so far). --Rosen 06:42, 9 August 2006 (MST)

This is looking great. Add as much info as you want on merchandising and the like. Oh yeah, and I've noticed the bug regarding tables and bullet points - I'll see if I can think of a way around it. dooky 06:55, 9 August 2006 (MST)
Woah! So interesting! Your native language looks a bit like German. And concerning the "breasts" thing, incidentally in this part of the world your country is often viewed as very open, thx to the imported Swedish porn films flourishing in the 60s & 70s (before the Japanese ones began to conquer the local market). lol Looking forward to read more! 210 18:45, 9 August 2006 (MST)

Can someone move the graphics here? I just noticed it but don't have FTP access right now.--WikiSysop 18:03, 13 August 2006 (MST)

Yessir. Kerochan no Miko 19:14, 13 August 2006 (MST)
Well, the original location is on my home page. Still... if images should be stored locally, why doesn't WikiMoon have a user function for uploading them, like most other wikis? --Rosen 00:33, 14 August 2006 (MST)
Host doesn't give me the ability to change the access level of directories, and a write-access level is necessary to enable user graphic uploads.--WikiSysop 00:40, 14 August 2006 (MST)

Just a tiny question about the trivia: In the ep. 56 bit it says Mako says that she has bigger breasts, but I have a rather vivid memory of watching it in my youth and laughing at her saying that she looks the oldest, while shoving her talents in the others' faces. Is this something I dreamed up? (this is very possible ^^;) Lachesis 15:35, 2 October 2006 (MST)

(Gomen for my absence; this turned out to be the most hectic period for me this decade.) Literally translated, Mako's line is: "Haven't you forgotten something now? I'm the one who should play Snow White, I do look the oldest (most mature) of us - after all, I have the biggest breasts!" Annie then growls something unintelligible and Rai says: "Those, the biggest ones!?" to which Mako replies: "Hmm, wanna compare?" A few moments later, Rai says: "I have most talent!" and gets Mako's chest in her face: "Well, I have the biggest breasts!" --Rosen 10:17, 3 October 2006 (MST)
well, that would explain it. Amazing that the "looking the oldest" comment stuck in my head but not all the breast talk... ^^ and amazing that they aired that but not episode 4 o.O Lachesis 13:32, 3 October 2006 (MST)

Trivia[edit]

I took out the trivia note because Makoto's line about having the biggest breasts was in the original version, and therefore there's not really a reason to mention it being the same... Kerochan no Miko 18:57, 22 December 2006 (MST)

Sorry, haven't noticed that. --210 19:21, 22 December 2006 (MST)
I did say that in the edit note. Kerochan no Miko 20:21, 22 December 2006 (MST)
And I did read your note, but I thought you're only referring to the contents added to that trivia, until I read your comment here. --210 02:36, 23 December 2006 (MST)
Except that I didn't add any contents, I removed the trivia note and my edit note explained why. Context is everything. Kerochan no Miko 07:31, 23 December 2006 (MST)
I didn't mean the contents added by you, but those by the anonymous (?) user. As I've said, I didn't noticed that reason in your note. --210 21:52, 23 December 2006 (MST)
I've no idea what that anon user was up to. The note was first put in there because Mako says it as a reply to Rei claiming to have most talent (and so accidentally echoing Lita's line in the NA dub; Rei claimed to be "the most classy" or something like that in the original version). The point is in comparison to DiC, not to the original. --Rosen 04:36, 24 December 2006 (MST)
Maybe you could reinstate that trivia & add the point about echoing the NA dub to it? (Not having watched the dub, I think I'm not the best one to write about this.)
And Merry X'mas! メリクリ!^^ --210 04:59, 24 December 2006 (MST)
Ahhh, that makes a lot more sense. Could you rewrite the trivia note so it does? ^_^ Kerochan no Miko 08:10, 24 December 2006 (MST)
Done, I hope. (That was me putting it back in; I forgot to log on.) --Rosen 12:56, 1 January 2007 (MST)
That makes a lot more sense now. Thanks. ^_^ Kerochan no Miko 13:51, 1 January 2007 (MST)

Forgotten to put on edit note before saving (re: table format): "That's exactly what I wanted it to be like. I should've noticed the "colspan" thing in the original code but didn't. Thx." --210 21:22, 15 May 2007 (MST)

Manga Confusion[edit]

About what was published here: Not Takeuchi's original manga, but the one made up of stills from the anime (see here and here for some panels). I know I discussed with Jay what to call it on a talk page somewhere around here; we opted to use "anime manga" for the time being - it was one of the terms Hitoshi Doi used for it.
Whatever the name, it was a major piece of merchandise - Kodansha released quite a number of issues, and it's been published in several countries (including some that I don't think got a dub; there was a Hungarian edition) so there should to be an article if there isn't one already. --Rosen 14:46, 3 July 2008 (MST)

Yeah, there really should be...but I really don't know much about it, so. ^^; Kerochan no Miko 18:52, 3 July 2008 (MST)
That's exactly what I did in a previous edit of mine (w/ the edit note "On 2nd thought [...]") - they're called "film comics" in the original Japanese editions. --210 06:42, 4 July 2008 (MST)
OK, I've reverted it back to that version I edited w/ that edit note. --210 06:47, 4 July 2008 (MST)
