- Even though Sailor Moon became Super Sailor Moon for the first time in the previous episode, this was the first time she called out the phrase associated with the Holy Grail, "Crisis, Make Up," in the transformation sequence.
- Sailor Moon used Rainbow Moon Heartache for the first time in this episode.
- Sailor Pluto used Dead Scream for the first time in this episode.
- Hotaru was first named and made her first speaking appearance in this episode, and her healing powers were shown for the first time as well. It was also the first time Professor Tomoe's face was visible.
- When the Inner Senshi confronted U-Estern, Sailor Moon made a reference to Wyatt Earp, a 19th-century American law officer.
- In the first English dub, Amy told Serena they have to "find the Chalice," even though the Purity Chalice was revealed in the previous episode.
