In the anime, Achiral appeared in just one episode (episode 81), under the service of Esmeraude. In this episode, he and Chiral target Chibiusa's elemantary school and cause the students and school staff to fight each other. Chibiusa's classmate Momoko Momohara is injured, which causes Chibiusa to unleash her power. Chiral and Achiral are ultimately defeated by Sailor Moon.

* In some sources, Chiral and Achiral are referred to as "droids" (in the anime and even in the manga); however, they are have many characteristics that make them different from droids, the most important being the inverted black crescent moon on their foreheads and the Black Crystal earrings, which droids never use. In the manga, all droids look the same, with the exception of Veneti and Aquatici. In the anime, while all droids are different from each other, all are female and do not have the inverted black crescent moon on their foreheads, instead they have gems with the black crescent moon inside. When droids are defeated, they turn into piles of sands (perhaps as a reference to their origin in the manga), while Chiral and Achiral explode when they are defeated.

* Unlike most Droids in the anime, Achiral and his brother Chiral did not have a gemstone on their bodies that was shown turning black when they were destroyed.

Anime

In the anime, Achiral was a Droid belonging to Esmeraude, and he appeared in episode 81.

Manga

In the manga, Achiral and his brother Chiral formed the Boule Brothers (or, in the TokyoPop translated version, the "Artificial Jewel Brothers"). They were Esmeraude's underlings, and according to the Materials Collection, were "twins like mirror reflections."[1]

The two participated in Code: 005, Operation: Remake. Along with Esmeraude and Chiral, he trapped Sailor Moon within a fake Crystal Palace. While trapped, a magnetic field prevented her from using her powers. Achiral was killed by the team effort of Tuxedo Mask's Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber and Sailor Venus' Venus Love-Me Chain.

Trivia

 • "Chiral" is a scientific term referring to an object that cannot be superimposed on its mirror image; an object which is non-chiral is called "achiral."
 • Unlike most Droids in the anime, Achiral and his brother Chiral did not have a gemstone on their bodies that was shown turning black when they were destroyed.
