The Inner Senshi are stunned by the appearance of Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus. Sailor Chibi Moon sees the mirror that Sailor Neptune is holding, and remembers Michiru calling her mirror a "Talisman." She is amazed that Sailor Neptune was one of the two in the helicopter, but the others fix on the word "talisman" as they remember their ominous dreams. Sailor Mars demands to know if the two Senshi are the source of their dreams, and Sailor Uranus seems somewhat surprised that they have sensed the upcoming crisis. Sailor Mercury asks for information, but Sailor Uranus replies that they are not allies and have no intention of fighting with the other Senshi. Sailor Neptune begins to play her violin, forcing the others to cover their ears in pain. Tuxedo Mask calls out to the pair, demanding to know if they will bring destruction, but Sailor Uranus uses World Shaking against the other Senshi and knocks them out.
Usagi wakes to find herself in the Secret Base with her friends. Luna explains that Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, like Sailor Pluto, have their own job to do and shouldn't be here, for their job was to protect the Silver Millennium from a distance. Artemis is surprised that they were reborn, wonders if something dire is happening. The girls wonder if the Death Busters could be that emergency, though the fact that the two attacked them leads them to believe that they aren't their friends and they will have to fight.
Back at Mamoru's apartment, he watches Chibiusa and Usagi sleep in his bed. When he touches Usagi's hand, they both have the same dream of a ruined city and an ominous figure, and wonder if that could be the "god of destruction" their dreams spoke of before.
Rei sits before the sacred fire and thinks about the mirror Sailor Neptune carries, which is a Talisman. She wonders where the other two could be.
Usagi waits in the park for Mamoru, but instead Haruka finds her there. Haruka turns away and starts to leave, but Usagi calls her "Sailor Uranus" and she stops. Usagi asks why the other Senshi won't tell her anything, and if they really are their allies. Haruka replies that she wanted to meet Usagi while she still didn't know anything. Usagi asks if Haruka is male or female, and Haruka asks if that matters. Mamoru finally arrives, and Haruka leaves with a gust of wind. Usagi begins to cry and wonders what it is that is making her so sad.
Chibiusa arrives at the Game Center Crown looking for Mamoru, but he isn't there. She tells the others that she wanted help with her art class homework, and displays a clay sculpture she made. She explains that it is supposed to be the "Holy Grail," and when they ask what that is, Diana says that Neo-Queen Serenity once owned it, and it gave her mysterious powers to save people. Chibiusa once saw a picture of it, and she wants one that sparkles with jewels like the one her mother has. As she talks about the things she saw when she sneaked into her mother's room she becomes sad, but when Makoto asks if she wants to go home, Chibiusa insists that she promised she would stay until she became a great Senshi. She says she'll go see if Mamoru has returned home.
Usagi and Mamoru sit in his apartment, the atmosphere between them strained. Just as Usagi starts to speak Chibiusa bursts in, and noticing the tension in the air, asks if the two of them have been fighting. Usagi denies it, and Chibiusa suggests that Usagi made him angry by having an affair. Mamoru asks why Chibiusa came, and she asks for help with her homework. This makes Usagi remember that she needs to do her own homework, but Chibiusa insists that she instead stay and help. She pulls out the clay sculpture and explains what she wants it to be, and Mamoru finds a picture of a Holy Grail in a reference book. They begin to work together, but by the time the sculpture is done, Chibiusa has fallen asleep on the sofa. Usagi embraces Mamoru and apologizes for being close to Haruka, and when he says that he trusts her, she adds that she was jealous when she saw him with Michiru. He admits that he was jealous of her and Haruka as well, but comments that Haruka and Michiru seem to have a lot of sorrow, and Usagi realizes that she sensed as much and she began crying in reaction to it. She says that she should wake Chibiusa, but Mamoru tells her that she can stay there and kisses her. Chibiusa opens her eyes and smiles at Diana because they have made up again.
As the girls discuss studying for exams, Ami mentions a new prep school, Mugen Preparatory School. She says that there is a student from Mugen Academy that she never can beat, a girl named Yui Bidou. Ami goes to visit the prep school, and there meets Yui. Yui says that Ami would do well at Mugen Academy, and suggests that she come to the school for a trial enrollment. Even though her friends think that it is too dangerous to go alone, Ami goes anyway, saying that she will call if she needs help.
Ami arrives at the school and is directed to the science classroom on the 13th floor. She sees a glass case with what appears to be a galaxy inside and stares at it with eyes wide. Yui arrives, startling Ami, and explains that it is a miniature replica of the Tau Star System that was created for a science project. She excuses herself to go to a class, as a camera in the corner of the room focuses on Ami.
Kaolinite watches Ami in her pool, and wonders if the girl could be a Sailor Senshi. Yui appears and confirms that if she was attracted to the miniature galaxy, Ami must be a Sailor Senshi, and declares that she, as Viluy, will succeed where the others failed and will obtain the Hoste of a Senshi. As Kaolinite muses that the Hoste of a Senshi must be very powerful indeed, Ami abruptly throws a pen into the camera lens, shattering it, and runs out of the room. She sees a sign for a laboratory and goes to investigate, while Michiru and Haruka watch her go. Inside the lab Ami finds cages full of animals and more of the creatures they fought before. Yui appears behind her with a crowd of students bearing black stars on their foreheads and has them drag Ami away.
Once in the classroom, Yui declares that her nanobots will invade human bodies and then sacrifice their Hoste to Pharaoh 90. Before Ami can fall under Viluy's power, however, Haruka and Michiru intervene. Taking advantage of the distraction, Ami uses her communicator to call the others and tell them what she found, then leaps out the window. She transforms into Sailor Mercury as she falls and lands in the swimming pool. She attacks Viluy with Mercury Aqua Mirage, but Viluy disdainfully dodges, saying that she already analyzed all of the Senshi's attack patterns. She counters the attack with Mosaic Buster, which sends nanorobots driving into Sailor Mercury's body. Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter use Mars Snake Fire and Jupiter Coconut Cyclone, freeing Sailor Mercury from Viluy's power, and Viluy summons two Daimons from unconscious students nearby. Haruka and Michiru comment that they can no longer stay at the school, and transform into Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. Sailor Uranus summons her Talisman, the Space Sword, and uses Space Sword Blaster to destroy Viluy and the two Daimons. The two Senshi flee before the others can say anything more, and Sailor Moon wonders if the pair came to save them.
At K.O. University, Motoki asks Reika if she wants to go out that night, but she says she has her club meeting to go to. As Reika is about to enter the club room, she notices a stranger at the lab next door and introduces herself. The woman in turn introduces herself as Setsuna Meiou, a first-year student studying theoretical physics.
