I'm unsure how to be consistent with this category. Does Mamoru is Setsuna fall under it, e.g. for fandom terminology, or should it just be for fandom mechanics, such as the mailing lists or AFSM?--WikiSysop 07:06, 16 June 2006 (MST)

We could split it into subcategories. Not sure what Mamoru is Setsuna would fall under. How anout a "fan myths" category? I know it was never a 'serious' myth, but I'm not sure what else to categorise it as. Dooky 07:37, 16 June 2006 (MST)
Maybe a memes category would be better. We could put both Serena Gravey and Mamoru is Setsuna there.--WikiSysop 07:38, 16 June 2006 (MST)
Would 'Burn Myself Perfectly' be considered a meme? And just what was Seiya meant to be saying there anyway? Dooky 16:10, 16 June 2006 (MST)
Oh shit, that's an awesome one. I'm jealous you thought of it first. I haven't seen it in years but he was probably saying "moeru" which literally means "to burn" but in this context is "be fired up" or 'burn' with passion.--WikiSysop 16:38, 16 June 2006 (MST)
My Japanese is appalling, but I think I've managed to isolate the phrase in question: "Atashi wa kanzen ni tsune nenshou shiteru mono", or 私は完全に常燃焼してる物, translated literally as "I always burn myself perfectly". It probably is some methaphor relating to being fired up, but the scientist in me also likes the idea of the Japanese equating a good effort with complete combustion... ^_^ Dooky 17:18, 16 June 2006 (MST)
Nenshou is a combination of moeru and yaku, the former of which is to burn and the latter to bake. It is, as you say, a metaphor.--WikiSysop 21:41, 16 June 2006 (MST)

I'm not sure on the use of the word meme but I wonder what 'Hotaru is goth' and Moonie Code would fall under.--WikiSysop 17:01, 16 June 2006 (MST)

Don't know. I guess we could just generally stick them under 'fandom' and then see if a better category comes along. Dooky 17:18, 16 June 2006 (MST)

Categories[edit]

I think we can safely be rid of the AMV and cosplay categories here, although a lot of the fandom stuff probably needs revamping in general. I'm not sure I want to touch it, though, considering a lot of this is from the very beginning of the wiki and nobody really knows what to do with it.... Considering that those two categories are currently containing so few items, they probably should be deleted - they could always be recreated should the need arise in due course. --210 04:07, 18 February 2012 (MST)
