The DD Girls were five Youma who served Queen Beryl in the anime. They volunteered to intercept the Sailor Team outside the Dark Kingdom's base, and were responsible for the deaths of Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus.

They could fly at high speeds, turn their arms into sharp, strong tentacles, and dig underground tunnels extremely fast with their bodies without suffering any harm. Their leader used illusions generated by the jewel in her headpiece to manipulate the environment around herself (by clouding the entire D Point area, for example) and she could also disguise herself as other people in order to fool the Senshi, as well as make the collective electricity and fire-based attacks of the group of Youma seem more powerful and deadly.

The fact that the DD Girls were able to prevail against four of the five Sailor Senshi indicated that they were very strong Youma, but they were not invincible. Sailor Jupiter destroyed two of them along with herself when they trapped her. Sailor Mercury managed to destroy the source of their illusion-casting powers with her supercomputer before they killed her. Sailor Venus dispatched another DD Girl by using her Crescent Beam at point blank range, though she herself was also killed in the ensuing blast. The last two DD Girls were killed by Sailor Mars. One was incinerated by Fire Soul before she could harm Sailor Moon, while the leader and final member of the DD Girls was consumed by a surprise attack from Sailor Mars which also killed the Senshi herself.

Musicals

The DD Girls also appeared in the musical Sailor Moon - Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen, and were there played by Hisako Doubayashi, Yuuko Nishi, and Mayumi Maikuma. In its revision as well as the Sailor Moon Super Spring Festival, they were played by Yuriko Nishiyama, Kaori Ishikawa, and Ai Suzuki.

Video Games

The DD Girls also appeared in the video game Sailor Moon: Another Story. In this game the player encountered the DD Girls in a cave, and had to defeat all five, who then tipped the player off that they were about to face a reincarnated Queen Beryl. These encounters differed from normal random monster encounters in that, before each battle, an exclamation mark would appear above the character's head, warning them of the upcoming encounter.
