The Dark Kingdom was an evil organization led by the noncorporeal entity Queen Metalia and based at the North Pole, albeit deep under the Earth's surface. Its forces were commanded by Queen Beryl.
In the live-action series, the exact location of the Dark Kingdom was never fully explained, but it seemed to have its own extra-dimensional space. The scenery within the Dark Kingdom included underground caverns, ordinary-looking rooms, and a small forest.
A new, different Dark Kingdom was created by Mio Kuroki in the Special Act of the live-action series. This Dark Kingdom was located in an abandoned amusement park and consisted of only Queen Mio, a stuffed dog toy which Mio magically mended, and a multitude of Pierrot, four of which masqueraded as the Shitennou.
