Diana the Moon Fairy was an unused Sailor Moon character who appeared only in two artbooks (Sailor Moon Nakayoshi Anime Album 1 and the Materials Collection) and therefore was not part of canon. The original plan was that she would be found by Sailor Moon and the Senshi of the Four Guardian Deities in the ruins of the Moon Kingdom, but she was replaced in the actual storyline by Queen Serenity. She was also intended to later accompany Usagi and Luna. Though she was never used, the name Diana was used as the name of the future kitten of Luna and Artemis.

As she was unused, all that is known about her personality is the small amount revealed in the Materials Collection. She was said to be talkative, impertinent, and playful. The Materials Collection also mentioned that she and Luna would not get along.[1] Her character design had blue eyes and blonde hair in an odango style, similar to Usagi's but without the pigtails. She also had a pair of thin light blue wings and was described as being "fragile like a teardrop."[1]

Her costume was a lemon-colored strap-sleeved lace dress, with a bottom which always fluttered, and which tied at the back in a yellow bow. She also had a bracelet with a star charm on her left wrist, an anklet with a crescent moon charm on her left foot, and a ring on her left ring finger. In her right ear she wore a crescent moon earring, and in her left a star earring.
