Episode trivia[edit]
- This episode marked the first appearances of Sailor Aluminum Seiren and Sailor Lead Crow, though they remained hidden in shadows. They did not receive speaking roles until episode 182.
- This episode also included the first appearances of Haruka and Michiru since the end of the Queen Nehellenia arc in episode 172.
- The Sailor Star Yell appeared for the first time in this episode, as did the second animation sequence for Star Gentle Uterus.
- The sound effect that played as Sailor Chef summoned a cake is one used to otherwise represent Sailor Saturn.
- The cover of the book Taiki was reading at the beginning of the episode showed the title "die Schärfe von Vernunft" (the Sharpness of Reason).
- The poem Taiki recited was "The Sick Rose" by William Blake. Usagi misinterpreted "Blake" as "break," and asked if he wanted to join her and Makoto for a "coffee break," because both words are pronounced "bureiku" (ブレイク) in Japanese.
- In the German dub, Taiki did not mention the name of the poem's author, and instead said that it was black poetry. Bunny thought he meant black coffee.
- In the German dub, Yoshi Tetsuro referred to Taiki as "Taiki Hikaru" ("hikaru" being an alternate reading of the kanji "kou" (光; light) in his given name), even though the booklet of the first DVD said his name was "Taiki Kou," and in the subtitles of the Blu-ray and second DVD, it was "Taiki Light."
