Fan Kansha

A Fan Kansha (ファン感謝; Thanks to Fans), often abbreviated as Fan Kan, was a special performance by the Sera Myu actors. The musicals were supposed to finish after Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, but the fanbase for the musicals kept them going. As a result of this, the first Fan Kansha event was held in connection with the next musical, Eien Densetsu, in 1997, and they continued until the musicals went on hiatus in 2005.

A common event at a Fan Kansha was to have the actors, in their own costumes, singing the songs of other actors (for example, the Inner Senshi singing a song for the Amazon Trio), or talking about themselves and/or the characters they played. "Duet Corner" was when they formed random pairs to sing a duet, using different actors in each performance of the Fan Kan. Other events included calling up audience members who were cosplaying on stage, and taking questions from the audience, a feature known as "Question Corner." When it was time to introduce a new Sailor Moon actress, it became a tradition to have the previous actress pass on a tiara to the newcomer. Videos of these events were only sold at the performances of the musical that they were promoting, although sometimes clips from the events were available on official "Guide Videos."
