A fandub is a fan production in which the fan takes a video and replaces the original Japanese audio with audio in their own language. In the past, fandubs were often distributed on VHS through the mail, but in recent years they are almost always spread on the internet, most commonly via torrent download. In recent years fandubs have become much more popular, as software programs which make the dubbing process easier are more readily available.
