Kunzite and his Youma investigate the rumours of a rift between Sailor Moon and the other Sailor Senshi.

Summary[edit]

It is night just outside of Tokyo. The four Inner Senshi chase after Sailor Moon and surround her. They demand that she surrender, and when she refuses, Sailor Mars attacks her with Fire Soul. The attack misfires and hits not only Sailor Moon but also the other three Sailor Senshi.

In the Dark Kingdom, Queen Beryl and Kunzite are confused by the abnormal energy readings they have sensed recently. The Youma Oniwabandana arrives to report in, and hands Beryl and Kunzite two magical photographs which show the Inner Senshi fighting Sailor Moon, saying that this was the cause of what they'd sensed. Kunzite orders Oniwabandana to investigate further.

At night Oniwabandana appears in the Osa-P to steal jewelry, but is surprised by Naru and her mother. The Youma throws knives at the two women, pinning them against the wall by their clothing. Sailor Moon appears and begins giving her speech, but is stopped when Sailor Mars kicks her in her backside. The other Sailor Senshi also appear and start an argument with Sailor Moon. Oniwabandana escapes without a fight. Shortly afterwards Nana Asahina shows up and begins photographing the Sailor Senshi arguing. Nana says she is a reporter for a tabloid newspaper and wants an interview with the Sailor Senshi, but they refuse to talk and leave. Sailor Moon is the only one who remains to help Naru and her mother.

The next day, as Usagi and Naru walk home from school, Usagi tells Naru that the Sailor Senshi would never fight among themselves. They are interrupted by Nana Asahina, who tries to get them to talk about the Sailor Senshi. Naru and Usagi refuse to answer her questions and flee.

That night the Sailor Senshi again fight among themselves, but when Sailor Mars kicks Sailor Moon again, Sailor Moon complains that the kick was for real. They discuss the fact that it is all a plot designed by Sailor Moon, who wants the enemy to believe she is being rejected by the other Sailor Senshi so that she can go to the Dark Kingdom and save Mamoru.

The next day at Hikawa Shrine, the Sailor Senshi read the tabloid with the article about them. Luna and Artemis think that Nana Asahina has been far too successful as a reporter lately, and suspect she has been turned into a Youma. Usagi is angry with Rei, and accuses her of really wanting to overthrow Usagi and become the new leader. The other Sailor Senshi ask them to stop arguing. Usagi and Luna go to visit Nana Asahina at her house. Usagi hands Nana a letter from Sailor Moon which says that she no longer wants to be a Sailor Senshi, and invites Nana to meet her at the cemetery that night.

When Nana and Sailor Moon meet at the cemetery, both Kunzite and the other Sailor Senshi are watching secretly. Nana asks Sailor Moon whether the letter is true. Sailor Moon confirms this, and Nana turns into Oniwabandana. Kunzite appears and tells Sailor Moon that she can see Prince Endymion if she hands over the Silver Crystal. She replies that she wants to see Tuxedo Mask first.

Kunzite opens a portal to the Dark Kingdom, but is alerted by Oniwabandana who has heard the Sailor Senshi whispering in the bushes. She attacks Sailor Moon with her bandana and begins strangling her. Kunzite asks Sailor Moon again to hand over the Silver Crystal, but she replies she does not have it. Sailor Moon thinks this is a test to see whether the other Sailor Senshi will come to her rescue.

Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus finally decide that they can't just keep watching and start to move forward, but Sailor Mars stops them. They ask if Sailor Mars really does hate Sailor Moon, but she shows that she has the Moon Stick with the Crystal.

Oniwabandana continues her attack, though, and the Sailor Senshi are finally forced to act. They reveal themselves to an unimpressed Kunzite, who says he saw through their charade a long time ago.

Sailor Mars uses Fire Soul to make Oniwabandana release Sailor Moon. Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus attack Kunzite with a combined Supreme Thunder and Crescent Beam. He repels their attack and teleports away. Oniwabandana attacks Sailor Moon with a sword. Sailor Mars throws the Moon Stick to Sailor Moon, who uses it to block Oniwabandana's attack. Oniwabandana creates four identical copies of herself, but Sailor Mercury uses Sabão Spray to obscure the cemetery and Sailor Mars attacks Oniwabandana with Fire Soul and makes the copies vanish. Sailor Moon then uses Moon Healing Escalation to turn the Youma back into Nana Asahina.

Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars immediately begin arguing over whether the other Sailor Senshi should have come to her rescue, but are stopped when Nana Asahina breaks in and begins asking questions again.

Episode trivia[edit]

  • The letter that Usagi gave Nana Asahina was written on stationery that had a picture of Sailor Moon on it. That image of Sailor Moon, however, looked as she did in the manga, with the manga-style brooch and choker, as well as winged barrettes in her hair.
  • In the original version Usagi gave Rei the Moon Stick because she didn't trust herself to not hand it over in exchange for Mamoru. In the first English dub, however, Raye found the Crescent Moon Wand under her bed after Serena left it there. This change was very unpopular with fans, as they believed that in the original it highlighted how close Usagi and Rei had become, but in the dub Raye was made out to want to usurp Serena's postion as leader.
