La Soldier (The Soldier) was considered by many to be an overarching theme for the Bandai run of the Sailor Moon musicals, and appeared in every one of them, either as a service number or an actual song in the production. It also played in the background during Neo-Queen Serenity and Small Lady's battle against Wiseman in episode 88 of the anime.

Song Details[edit]

When the song was performed in the musicals, it was usually sung by the Sailor Senshi in the cast, and accordingly a different version of it existed on each of the various soundtrack CDs, except for Memorial Album of the Musical 7 - Kaguya Shima Densetsu. In the musical Tanjou! Ankoku no Princess Black Lady, Aaron and Manna performed an orchestral version of the song.

Sakurakko Club also performed a version which was released on a CD.

The version of the song which played in the anime was performed by Moon Lips.

The song was composed by Akiko Kosaka and arranged by Yuzo Hayashi, with lyrics by Kayoko Fuyumori.

Lyrics[edit]

Japanese[edit]

Moonlight
La Soldier

(1 Chorus version ends here)

Lunatic
La Soldier

Moonlight
La Soldier

English Translation[edit]

Waiting any more than this is impossible
Don't end it so easily
I want all that you are
There's a slide that gently
Came between us before
A pearl was revealed
You attacked me with a look
My heart is transparent to the core

Repeated for thousands of years
Love is a mysterious battle, isn't it?
The Moonlight of love that came from you
As I'm bathed in it, I begin to change
Vividly, Secretly, La Soldier

(1 Chorus version ends here)

I want to stay like this but
Your faint smile will change when we're separated
Don't add in any promises
Whether we'll meet again tomorrow
Or if 200 years from now, it's the same
Destiny will come to meet us
Softly tracing the shape of a heart
Without forgetting, remember it!

Circling and circling in the tale,
Love is an everlasting battle, isn't it?
I have become Love's Lunatic
I'll show you miracles and dreams,
Boundlessly, Beautifully, La Soldier

Repeated for thousands of years
Love is a mysterious battle, isn't it?
The moonlight of love that came from you
As I'm bathed in it, I begin to change
Vividly, Secretly, La Soldier
