In the mid-to-late 1990s, before forums became commonplace, Sailor Moon fandom had several resources for discussion. They were newsgroups such as alt.fan.sailor-moon, followed by IRC chatrooms and equally as popular (if not moreso), mailing lists.
There were three main Sailor Moon mailing lists in the 1990s, all of which are long-since defunct:
The mailing lists were named after the servers they were hosted on.
