Make up! Sailor Senshi was a short anime special, originally shown in theaters as an opener for the Sailor Moon R movie, which premiered in cinemas in Japan on December 5, 1993. When the R movie was released on DVD in North America by Pioneer, this short was not included. When Viz produced a dubbed version of the R movie that aired in theaters in early 2017, this short was also dubbed and shown before the movie.

In this short, while Usagi and Chibiusa were at a cafe, they overheard some girls talking about their favorite Sailor Senshi. Their discussion took the form of a recap of the first season's highlights and the personalities of the various characters.
