Episode trivia

When Sailor Moon first appeared in this episode, she made a reference to Attack No. 1, a famous anime series about volleyball.

The volleyball court showed up again in episode 109.

In the original version, Professor Tomoe told Kaolinite his favorite sport was stair-stepping. In the English dub, he told her his favorite sport was "standing over his experiments."

The slogan on Haikyun's headband read "必勝!" (Certain victory!), but at several points it changed, depending on the situation, to "くやしい" (Annoying), "邪悪" (Wicked), "っびっくり!!" (Frightened!!) and "負け!" (Defeat!).
