Sailor Moon in Portugal refers to the Portuguese dub of the Sailor Moon anime, which was also renamed Navegante da Lua (a direct translation to Portuguese). The portuguese eye catches clearly shows the anime had two names. Usagi's voice actress presented the series being called Sailor Moonand Navegante da Lua alternately. It was dubed by Novaga studios and directed by António Semedo and Fernanda Figueiredo. The anime was entirely broadcasted by SIC TV Channel in 1995, in children's TV show called Buéréré. In 2000 TVI TV Channel bought the transmission rights of the series and aired it in children's Batatoon. Finally in 2002 Canal Panda (Panda Channel) aired Sailor Moon S, Sailor Moon SuperS, and Sailor Moon Sailor Stars. The complete series was later rebroadcast by Canal Panda beginning in March 2011.
Changes
Luna was male, while Artemis and Rhett Butler were female. Zirconia was also changed to being a male. Fisheye remained male in this version, however. Zoisite's gender was never truly identified, because it changed in many episodes but the voice actor was male.
Opening and Ending Sequences
In the Portuguese version, neither "Moonlight Densetsu" nor "Sailor Star Song" were used in the opening credits. Instead, "Heart Moving" had a remake with new instrumental and Portuguese vocals. This new song, which was referred to as "Luna Luna" (though never officially named), was performed by Mafalda Shacchetti, and used for the opening of all five seasons. The ending songs were replaced by an instrumental version of that song as well.
