Giselle
Just checking, its Giselle not Gizelle, right? ^_^ Cartwheelingfiesta 20:22, 18 April 2011 (MST)
- Yes, the correct spelling is Giselle, but it's a ballet not a musical. Also, isn't prima donna an opera term? The ballet equivalent would be "prima ballerina." Silver 20:27, 18 April 2011 (MST)
- Oh good point, there was something that didn't seem right when I wrote that. I was watching it in Japanese. They say prima donna. Cartwheelingfiesta 20:31, 18 April 2011 (MST)
- Maybe both terms can be used interchangeably, I don't really know. But for a leading ballet dancer I've always heard "prima ballerina" or "étoile" (the latter only in French, though). *shrug* Silver 20:47, 18 April 2011 (MST)
- They're probably interchangeable in Japanese, but I already changed it to Prima Ballerina... Cartwheelingfiesta 22:47, 18 April 2011 (MST)

Ballet Studio
The sign on the ballet studio read 山岸バレイ団 - is that really the name of the studio or just a sign announcing that the Yamagishi Ballet Troupe resides there? I've seen it called both on fansites. Kerochan no Miko 18:46, 19 April 2011 (MST)
- Its most likely both. Its on the gate and the building itself. 団 should also be translated as "company" not "troupe". Ballet Company is the proper term, also it actually, it says 山岸バレエ団. ^_^Cartwheelingfiesta 20:10, 19 April 2011 (MST)
- The article currently has it red-linked as "Yamagishi Ballet Studio" for the building - should I go ahead with that or just call it "Yamagishi Ballet Company" and note that there was also a building involved? Kerochan no Miko 04:13, 21 April 2011 (MST)
- Well I'm not sure if the building was ever named, it doesn't really matter as Usagi is training with Yamagishi Ballet Company anyway. Perhaps link it like the Yamagishi Ballet Company's studio or something. Cartwheelingfiesta 04:18, 21 April 2011 (MST)
- I'm more inclined to go with the latter, just in case. Silver 04:23, 21 April 2011 (MST)
I love the summary of this article! it's very detailed and well written ^^ --Alba 10:17, 28 May 2011 (MST)
Fouettés
Just thought I should clarify here as well that Kurumiwario didn't perform any fouettés (as noted by Miko on his article) which are actually "turns on one leg while the other whips around"; basically, this - I hope the ballet terminology isn't as confusing for people who read the summary as it was for me before (Wikipedia links and all) ^^; Silver 12:45, 22 May 2012 (MST)
- He said he was doing fouettés, but... yeah. Not exactly authentic. Kerochan no Miko 16:26, 22 May 2012 (MST)
- According to my sister, what Kurumiwario does when he claims he's doing fouettés resembles a "tour de promenade à la seconde", a slow turn on one leg with the other leg extended to the side which ballerinas do while supported by their partners. *shrug* Kurumiwario seems to manage it with ease, though ^^; Silver 21:20, 24 May 2012 (MST)
