Can anyone find a better picture of PGSM Mamoru? Shibue doesn't look very... Mamoru-y in the current one. --Sailor Biccy 15:03, 10 May 2007 (MST)

...how do you mean? Kerochan no Miko 15:30, 10 May 2007 (MST)
Yeah, what's the conditions it takes to be "Mamoru-y"? Or do you have pics to illustrate your point? --210 18:00, 10 May 2007 (MST)
... Damn, I was hoping I wouldn't have to explain my point. Lesse... Well, it really just looks like Shibue Jouji wearing make up. It doesn't really look like a picture of Mamoru. ... Dammit, I'm not good at this type of thing. x_x --Sailor Biccy 19:56, 10 May 2007 (MST)
Well, I've certainly seen better pictures of him, but that one is taken from the show AFAIK. --Rosen 01:59, 11 May 2007 (MST)
It's taken from promotional images from one of the photobooks - the same one from which I got the pictures of the Senshi's civilian identities. Kerochan no Miko 02:14, 11 May 2007 (MST)
If anyone got a pic of him they think is better for whatever reasons, feel free to post it on this talk page so that we can have sthg more concrete to discuss. ^^ --210 06:03, 11 May 2007 (MST)
Oh my god; the first thought that entered my head when I saw the picture was, "hey, he looks like a girl!". If someone wants to sieve through some PSGM screencaps, this site has a few acts. There are another couple of pictures here and one here. Sailor Biccy, did you want a picture of Mamoru in the show as opposed to a photo of the actor? A tiny difference, but a difference nonetheless. --Secretss 16:46, 11 May 2007 (MST)
When it comes to a choice between a good-quality image that some people don't think is "Mamoru-y enough" and a tv-quality screencap, I'll go with the former every time. Kerochan no Miko 01:11, 12 May 2007 (MST)

Is he civilian? lol --Endy 10:08, 7 June 2007 (MST)

Why not? --210 19:20, 7 June 2007 (MST)
Because he is also a Senshi who has a starseed. And I wonder why Usagi Tsukino isn't sorted to Civilian Category. lol --Endy 21:23, 7 June 2007 (MST)
I see what you mean now. lol I'm removing that categorization. --210 21:41, 7 June 2007 (MST)

More vital stats[edit]

I'm surprised that there isn't more basic information here, like what was included in the anime or manga guidebooks. For example, his birthday, astrological sign, gemstone, favorite color, etc. Actually, I came here thinking "Of course WikiMoon will have Mamoru's bithday!" (I forgot...) but it doesn't! I'm quite surprised!--Azurite 02:34, 6 August 2007 (MST)

I agree. I actually came to this discussion wondering if anyone could tell me exactly how much older Mamoru is then Usagi, I know he was a college student while she was in 8th grade, but that's it. Not to mention, I'm no expert at the Japanese grade system, so I'm not even entirely sure how old either are. though I'm sure Usagi was 14 at the time I'm mentioning. But considering no one even knows his birthday I wonder if this is a lost cause on my part.
Um, by the way, I don't know if I'm doing this right, its my first time adding to a wikimoon discussion... or any kind of discussion in this form. so if I did anything wrong, please tell me!- --SailorPromise 20:02, 24 July 2010 (MST)
That's probably because there was no specific age for him given, that I recall... and he was only in college in the anime. In the manga he was in high school. If you can find an actual age or birthdate, feel free to add it. Kerochan no Miko 23:58, 24 July 2010 (MST)
Mamoru's birthday is August 3, IIRC. And in Act 3 of the manga he shows Usagi his student ID card that says: "Chiba Mamoru, Moto Azabu High School, 11th grade." Hope that helps. Silver 02:28, 25 July 2010 (MST)
Does anyone know the name of the bad guy from Sailor moon R movie? (This unsigned comment was left by SailorKronos, 15 November 2011)
Not sure why this question was left here; answering on user's talk page. Kerochan no Miko 13:29, 15 November 2011 (MST)

Parallel Sailor Moon[edit]

"He lavished attention on his first-born child Chibiusa, often causing Usagi to feel unusually jealous. It was his encouragement that aided Chibiusa in becoming a strong Senshi, and in battling her inner demons as well as the enemies. In the "Parallel Sailor Moon" storyline, he viewed both of his daughters as "the next Sailor Moon", and teased his second-born, Kousagi, about it. "

...Where? I have the Materials Collection and I'm pretty damn sure Mamoru isn't even in it or mentioned. In fact, this site seems to have a lot of "facts" I'm almost positive aren't from the story.--Sailor Biccy 17:13, 6 August 2007 (MST)

I also can't remember Mamoru's appearance in that manga, tho it's been a long time ago & I can no longer access my book now. --210 18:21, 6 August 2007 (MST)
I have the Materials Collection on my lap right now, and I don't see Mamoru mentioned either when Chibiusa or when Kousagi appears. However, he does make a "cameo cover-up" (you can't see his eyes) when Kousagi "dies" and is about to transform-- he says that Kousagi's "tongue will save the world" (a reference to her eating habits, and Kousagi's complaint that she can't be dead; she still has so much left to eat!). Basically, no mention is made whatsoever in the PSM *manga* of Mamoru's attitude toward his "two" daughters. I doubt that there would be any text earlier in the book in the notes, since PSM isn't an official part of canon, and there are no liner notes for it. --Azurite 20:16, 6 August 2007 (MST)
So would you like to reword that part to make it more precise & accurate to the manga? ^^ --210 20:52, 6 August 2007 (MST)

Re: Edit comment "Not needed since the section isn't exclusively about PGSM"
I know. I just added <br clear="left"> to fix a minor bug with the pic and the Relationships headline, but never mind. Silver 16:09, 9 May 2011 (MST)

Ah, I see - reinstated, then. --210 01:05, 10 May 2011 (MST)
