:"玲" is also a Chinese character (& a pretty commonly used one too), & I think the previous one (玪) is a typo because its pronunciation is so different from the original Japanese, as compared to the current one. And her Japanese given name isn't rendered in kanji at all (it's in katakana). --210 (talk) 10:37, 23 December 2018 (EST)

Should the rendering for the Luna P Henge translation name used in Journey to the Future! Battle in the Space-Time Corridor be “露娜其,变” or “露娜奇,变”? Pretty sure it is "qí" that is used in the dub of that episode, but there weren't any subtitles to check the transcription with. Also, can someone confirm that the Japanese songs are kept in the dubbed episodes? <strike><small>The translation for Sailor V is pretty funny, 😆</small></strike> --Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 05:35, 23 December 2018 (EST)

It seems fairly reliable regarding the actresses, as credit screenshots from the other discussion thread also came from the similar source, and other sources can confirm many of the actresses' name; however, the character names I am not sure about, as while they sound correct the characters might be different. Also, I don't know if Setsuna is mentioned by name in Sailor Moon R. Should we just render the names in English (or pinyin 😉) when adding the information? Revision as of 15:06, 25 May 2019

From the text of this article, it appears that the dubs from Hong Kong and Taiwan were simply aired in China, and there wasn't a separate dub specifically done for China. If this is the case, I don't see a need for this article. If this isn't the case, the article needs to be rewritten. Kerochan no Miko 19:02, 17 October 2010 (MST)

I think that Sailor Moon in Hong Kong should be merged with this page. (This unsigned comment was left by Sailormoon1993, October 17, 2010)
If the dub was done in Hong Kong and aired in China then this page should be merged with the Hong Kong article. Kerochan no Miko 20:00, 17 October 2010 (MST)
As this article has stated, there's a different Mandarin dub & manga translation specifically in Mainland China, so this article deserves to stay, even tho it currently also includes irrelevant info about Sailor Moon in Taiwan & Hong Kong. --210 01:20, 18 October 2010 (MST)
I removed all the stuff about Taiwan and Hong Kong and made it just about the Chinese version... but now it's very, very sadly short. I'd appreciate if users didn't create articles unless they actually had information to put in them, in the future. Kerochan no Miko 09:19, 18 October 2010 (MST)

Does anyone have a better source than the Chinese 百科 wiki for the seiyuu names? The references provided in the articles there don't seem to be the most clear on the Chinese voice actor information, and the official Sailor Moon website doesn't seem to provide details very much either. --Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 02:28, 6 August 2018 (EDT)

As your source isn't sufficiently reliable, I'm gonna remove that seiyuu table for now. --210 (talk) 15:08, 6 August 2018 (EDT)
I have found some better sources. Here is a news article on 王晓燕, http://news.hexun.com/2014-03-24/163298857.html, mentioning her role in dubbing several anime. There is also this forum posting, https://tieba.baidu.com/p/3830069886, on Tieba with screenshots of the seiyuu credits for the first season of the Chinese dubbed Sailor Moon anime. -Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 08:27, 7 August 2018 (EDT)
Screenshots of the credits for season 2, https://tieba.baidu.com/p/3370887122. The previous screenshots posted for the season 1 were formatted differently because it appears that it is a fan upscale/transcript of the season 1 credits for the main characters (I think, don't cite this ;-P). The fan kansha video can be viewed at http://www.seramyuantics.net/video/video-sksdshanghaifankan.htm. -Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 12:46, 10 November 2018 (EST)
The episode titles from http://www.verycd.com/topics/2845629/ were confirmed with the audio from the dubbed episodes. Should I translate them? --Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 02:50, 2 December 2018 (EST) (posted at 2:32, forgot signature)
Providing a list of titles for every episode is a bit more esoteric than I think we need to go in these articles. Removed. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 13:29, 2 December 2018 (EST)
I'm not sure what "S1" was supposed to mean in the table, so I removed it for the time being. Please also provide the romanizations of those actor names. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 10:19, 7 August 2018 (EDT)

Translations

For the translations of “月之冕,星明星” would "Lunar Crown, Star Bright Star" be more apropos as translation? Also, I'd like to ask if anyone has a better translation for “火雷神,出击”, as I am not sure whether it is supposed to mean "Fiery Thunder Deity, Attack", "Thundering Fire Deity, Attack", or just "Fire Thunder Deity, Attack". Thanks! --Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 02:48, 2 December 2018 (EST)

I think your translation of the former is OK. As for the latter, my take would be "God of Fire and Thunder, Attack", but it's up to your preference. --210 (talk) 11:34, 2 December 2018 (EST)
Ah, thanks for the input!

--Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 22:18, 2 December 2018 (EST)

Apologies for asking, but what is the reason for changing the Chinese name for "Rei" to the Japanese kanji character? --Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 03:02, 23 December 2018 (EST)

"玲" is also a Chinese character (& a pretty commonly used one too), & I think the previous one (玪) is a typo because its pronunciation is so different from the original Japanese, as compared to the current one. And her Japanese given name isn't rendered in kanji at all (it's in katakana). --210 (talk) 10:37, 23 December 2018 (EST)

Huh, well having checked the dictionary it should be the same character, but I think that I probably mistook another character for the correct one, since they look similar when rendered onto the page. Although checking the two characters they do appear to be the same ideograph, so I don't know what happened there. The translation for Sailor V is pretty funny, 😆 --Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 05:35, 23 December 2018 (EST)

I think "奇" makes much more sense here. Sorry I can't confirm that, since I haven't watched it at all. ^^; And yeah, that's pretty funny. lol --210 (talk) 10:37, 23 December 2018 (EST)

Don't put it into the article till that's certain, then. --210 (talk) 11:43, 24 December 2018 (EST)
Should the pinyin marks for pronunciation be kept in the "Attack Names" section? Since they're translated, unlike the direct romanisations of the seiyuu names, maybe the renderings should be kept as close to the original as is possible. --Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 05:39, 6 April 2019 (EDT)

(The "What links here" has a few entries on changed songs, which seem to be accurate, but there may be other changes in music not listed) --Sailor-minako-chan (talk) 02:01, 7 April 2019 (EDT) (2019-04-06 06:48, forgot the signature and timestamp)

Pinyin

1) ‎Sailor-minako-chan, I have removed the translation for "children's division" before; please stop putting it back into the article. I see no reason why it is relevant to an article about Sailor Moon.
2) If the pinyin belongs in the same column as anything else, it's with the Mandarin, not with the English. I could also see giving it its own column, but I'm not sure if that would make the table too wide to view easily. Any thoughts? 14:26, 24 May 2019 (EDT)

Okay, well, I tried giving the pinyin its own column and it looks okay to me - even when I shrink down my window quite a bit. And the average monitor resolution has significantly increased since this project was started, so I think it'll be all right. Kerochan no Miko (talk) 22:35, 24 May 2019 (EDT)
Also looks fine to me even on my small device. --210 (talk) 15:06, 25 May 2019 (EDT)
