So, Tominaga Kenji's character in the Black Lady musicals needs a page, but his exact role changes. I the original, he's Rugbyman (with varying stages of the name) and later becomes a baseball player or something. In the revision, he's a guitarist that later becomes a conductor. So I'm unsure of what to do. T_T (I love him in both versions, so I'm hellbent on making a page.)--[[User:Sailor Biccy|Sailor Biccy]] 00:02, 6 April 2008 (MST)

Revision as of 03:03, 6 April 2008

Okay, I looked it up, and the droid-like character played by Kenji Tominaga is named ドキドキ・チクタク・ヒュルヒュルラガーマン. Should we just call him "Hyuru Hyuru Rugbyman"? --Kerochan no Miko 01:30, 23 December 2007 (MST)

Hrm. After re-watching the scene I have to take that back...he calls himself "Hyuru Hyuru Rugbyman" first, then "Doki Doki Rugbyman"...maybe we should just call him "Rugbyman." Kerochan no Miko 01:43, 23 December 2007 (MST)
Not having watched that, but I guess those sound/emo-effect kana are just for creating an emphasis or atmosphere for his name/character, & hence aren't the proper, permanent part of his name. --210 03:55, 23 December 2007 (MST)
He starts out calling himself "Hyuru Hyuru Rugbyman," then announces he has "powered up" into "Doki Doki Rugbyman" and later into "Chikutaku Rugbyman" (with minor costume changes at each). So they are part of his name. Kerochan no Miko 04:18, 23 December 2007 (MST)
I meant they aren't the proper (i.e. core), permanent part of his name. But now having read your descriptions, those kana seem to have a bigger importance - sthg like "Super Sailor Moon" & "Eternal Sailor Moon." --210 04:50, 23 December 2007 (MST)

Title translation

What's wrong with "Birth" as the translation for "Tanjou"? Kerochan no Miko 04:20, 23 December 2007 (MST)

Didn't notice your question here (only noticed your comment above lol). "Birth" can't be said to be "wrong" per se - it can be so translated, as it's often so. It's just that I think w/i the context of this title, "born" is closer to the original meaning than a direct transliteration of the word. --210 08:47, 24 December 2007 (MST)
Whereas I think that it makes more sense to say it's the birth of Black Lady. Kerochan no Miko 14:02, 24 December 2007 (MST)
Well, obviously that's not what I see it, but then I haven't watched this musical, so if you think otherwise, feel free to change it - afterall, "birth" isn't a wrong word, as I've said. ^^ --210 19:13, 24 December 2007 (MST)

I'm stumped.
