I've noticed that PGSM episode articles often name characters before they're named in the show itself. For example, the article [[Act 1 - I am Sailor Moon!]] credits [[Mamoru Chiba]] and [[Jadeite]], even though they're only named in later episodes. There is a precedent for articles on anime episodes obscuring character names: for example, [[Premonition of World's End? Mysterious New Senshi]] only lists the two new Senshi as "Mysterious Senshi" until they're named two episodes later. What to do with PGSM? - [[User:Sikon|Sikon]] 06:23, 19 January 2012 (MST)

Rolled back comment, don't feed the trolls by giving them attention--WikiSysop 01:35, 14 August 2006 (MST)

Understood, tho my original intention was to humiliate them. lol 210 05:43, 14 August 2006 (MST)
I don't think it's possible to humiliate trolls, especially not these ones. Kerochan no Miko 10:31, 14 August 2006 (MST)
I was just stating my intention. ^^ I also wanted to share the laugh, but yes, it's important not to feed/excite them. 210 18:23, 14 August 2006 (MST)

Haruka Tenou Page

On the Haruka Tenou page you put in the parenthesis that Mugen Acadamy was called Infinity Acadamy in the English Dub. No it wasn't, it was still called Mugen.

BlazingFire456, please sign your comments. Also, this comment would probably be better off on the talk page for the article in question. Kerochan no Miko 20:44, 27 September 2006 (MST)

Where's the button? I can't see it. ?_? Pls tell me where to look for it. 210 03:20, 28 September 2006 (MST)
Above the text-entry box, that button should be the second one from the right. Kerochan no Miko 11:52, 28 September 2006 (MST)
Saw it. Thx. Now I'm trying it. --210 18:58, 28 September 2006 (MST)

Phantom Sisters Link

I have a link talking about the Phantom Sisters' role in the manga:http://solstace.net/pink/datafile/darkside/sisters.htm Would it be acceptable? Please consider it. Neptunekh 22:59, 1 October 2006 (MST)

Live Action Attack

Should Cresent Beam be mentioned on Sailor Venus's page. She used it once in the live action series without words. Delenn7 16:58, 9 November 2006 (MST)

Settled here. --210 18:53, 9 November 2006 (MST)

AOL

I've had a couple of AOL users come to me asking why they've been blocked. I feel sorry for them, as they are suffering because of someone else spoiling the fun for them. Is there anything we can do? Put a message up somewhere at least? --GracieLizzie 19:33, 16 February 2007 (MST)

If someone wants to put up a message somewhere in the Help or Rules section they're welcome to. I'm not going to unblock AOL, though, because their IP system is a formula for trouble.--WikiSysop 21:41, 16 February 2007 (MST)
I've never used AOL, but how about sending opinions to AOL hoping that they could improve their system in the long run? (I don't know how they handle opinions tho.) --210 21:53, 16 February 2007 (MST)
It's not a technical thing, AOL is just a haven for spammers. --GracieLizzie 04:43, 17 February 2007 (MST)
AOL improving their systems. That's a good joke. Kerochan no Miko 06:18, 17 February 2007 (MST)
Didn't know that. :P So I guess it's another infamous place in cyberspace. --210 23:20, 17 February 2007 (MST)

Request for copyedit

Could someone with better grammar and spelling than I please copy edit Day of Destiny? I wrote it a while ago and it am sure it has mistakes all over it, but my dyslexia means I tend to miss them. Thanks. --GracieLizzie 11:29, 19 February 2007 (MST)

I edited it a bit, but I'm not very good at this so it will most likely need additional copyediting. Elanorea 13:37, 19 February 2007 (MST)
I just did a massive copyedit but my browser crashed and I lost it. ;_; I'll get back to it later when I'm not so depressed... Kerochan no Miko 14:39, 19 February 2007 (MST)
Okay, re-done. Kerochan no Miko 17:46, 19 February 2007 (MST)
Thank you :) that's much better. --GracieLizzie 05:42, 20 February 2007 (MST)

Request for Template:Cite Book

I want to have some templates to do citations because this project is so thin on them and it would help clear some of the misconceptions and the fights if citations could be used. For example on Chibiusa it could have been used to clear up things like the kanji for Usagi having alternate pronunciations and the fight about Princess Lady Serenity, plus it would give this project more credibility. Making templates would make it easier on everyone overall... I tried to do it, but I couldn't figure it out. I adovcate this over the wikilinks to the specific articles because it's easier to verify this method rather than the other method. Plus a template mater can add it so everytime there is an act or episode referenced it automatically wikilinks. --Hitsuji Kinno 11:52, 4 July 2007 (MST)

I don't recall any "fights" on this project. And I personally prefer just using references when we need references - I don't want to be incredibly anal with "citation needed" on every little statement, like Wikipedia. Kerochan no Miko
I'm not asking for a template for citation needed, I'm asking for citation templates for the following reasons:
1. It's easier to copy-paste rather than remember the wikilink for.
2. It looks classier to those outside Sailormoon so they can pick up the volumes and look them up via ISBN registeries.
3. Having the links all on one page makes it a copy-paste deal.
4. It allows for additional notes, such as specific quotes or notes. Such as citing the Sailormoon Official site and then saying something about the moon prism box for Sailor Moon listing X statistic.
5. Separates the page summaries from actually citing the act.
6. The specific points will be easier to verify, pages can be added, acts can be wikied, volumes can be references, etc.
Because wikimoon does not support citation templates it makes it *harder* to do citation from websites, books etc. It already supports the reference tag citations, and doing templates will make it easier to format citations when needed. In addition if the template its the same or slightly modified then it's easy to do a copy-paste. In addition, I have seen petty fights and people who don't know where X fact was. They assume it was fanon when it was not, but with quick and easy ability to do a citation this can be put inline with the text making it easier for the dispute to stop. I shall link the disputes where a citation could have easily solved it. Chibiusa-- Why not Chibiusa Tsukino? this was solved on her wikipredia paget and it was solved by having people pull up books, and quickly resolved, on that page it was not and still is ongoing, whereas if someone could slap on the tag and citation it would make it easier. The same thing with Princess Lady Serenity, same page. Chibiusa's popularity was solved with a citation. In addition having a citation for the fact she was popular and reached number 1 in volume 7 for the second arc should be of interest, slapping down a citation there with a citation template makes it easier. On the Reference desk page people were floundering for several lines about Mmaoru's age. A citation of book 1, act 2 makes the argument go away in seconds, but rather there was a long discussion because people didn't look up the citations. Citations aren't so much a way of verifying information as I'm advocating them, but a way to verify if *others* have made not up information. It makes those little fan disputes that can go on for pages dissolve in one quick reply or one edit to a page. This way people can stop doing reverts, etc. (Shall I list more pages where citations on the page would have helped?) If you compare the "I think it was somewhere in the manga" versus "I know it's on page 61 of Volume 7" you can see the clear advantage and it saves time. Wikimoon needs some credibility... this is the fastest way to do it. It's not like I'm going nuts and saying no OR or fanon... I'm asking for templates like on wikipedia... The idea is to make citations easier when they are needed. O.o;; What's so backwards about that?--Hitsuji Kinno 19:49, 5 July 2007 (MST)
Maybe a cite template might be useful, I don't know. I personally don't have a reason to use it; the references tag has always suited my purposes just fine when I've needed to cite a reference.
The thing is, you're approaching this as though it were an encyclopedia project like Wikipedia, and trying to enforce the same standards from there to here. This is not Wikipedia. We've made specific efforts to make sure that the two are very different. My reference to "citation needed" was because I think that while citing references can be useful, I don't want to start telling people that they need to cite anything and everything like on Wikipedia. Nor have we had any sorts of "battles" over information that you keep referring to. While I appreciate the fact that you want to try to improve this site, please don't try to enforce others' rules and standards here. Kerochan no Miko 20:12, 5 July 2007 (MST)
I'm a novice of Wiki coding, despite I've long been here. lol So I don't have much opinions about citation templates. But I've noticed that you've got valuable info on info sources, so why don't you polish up the articles here w/ your citations? ^^ --210 20:56, 5 July 2007 (MST)

Sailor Venus's Attack

Cresent Beam should stay even though she didn't say the name we known what it is and should just leave it at being the cresent beam (This unsigned comment was left by Sailor Xena)

...what? Kerochan no Miko 21:48, 17 September 2007 (MST)
I guess she (?) was referring to the following in the Sailor Venus article:
Venus Beam - A beam-like attack used by Sailor Venus. It resembled the Crescent Beam she used in the anime and Sailor V manga.
Is that right, Sailor Xena? --210 22:04, 17 September 2007 (MST)
Yes I was confused in a previous discussion about Sailor Venus's attack (it was in the Live Action Attack discussion) also I know this is out of context but does anyone know anything about the Hoshino Family in the Mugen musicals--Sailor Xena

Costume descriptions?

I know that in the main Sailor Senshi articles there are descriptions of their different costume variations &c, since they often have several versions. However, do we really need them in any other character articles?
My immediate reaction is no, because in most cases they only have one costume per canon (anime, manga, myu, whatever) and IMO the reference image should be sufficient. But does anyone else have an opinion? Kerochan no Miko 23:38, 12 April 2009 (MST)

I think some relatively important & more frequently appearing Senshi characters, such as Galaxia & Chibi Chibi in this case, Starlights, etc., could fall into the borderline cases, & I won't totally object to their having their appearance/costume descriptions in their articles. --210 00:02, 13 April 2009 (MST)
The reason why I think costume descriptions on the pages outside of the Sailor Senshi SHOULD be there is so people could read them if they wanted a full description of the costumes and appearances of other important characters. For instance, say someone looked at a picture of Black Lady and wanted a full description of her appearance other than just looking at the picture itself. I'm not saying we should put a costume description on every character page we see. What I'm saying is that I felt the outfits of all the main villains were interesting and they should be described openly. User:Sailorusagichan
Why would someone need a full description of Black Lady's appearance to an extent not provided by the reference images, though? As I said, the reason why the Senshi all had descriptions of their outfits is because they have outfits that aren't showin said images, whereas Black Lady always wears the same thing.
And where would you draw the line on "the main villains" when it comes to deciding who gets a description and who doesn't?
(Also, you can sign your comments by typing ~~~~ or clicking on the second button from the right above the edit box (the "signature with timestamp" button). Kerochan no Miko 12:50, 13 April 2009 (MST)
That does seem so, but I think some of the villains such as JunJun of the Amazoness Quartet wore different outfits to disguise themselves. I was only saying we should describe their usual outfits other than their many disguises like how Usagi had so many disguises in Season 1 of the anime and a list was put out. Sorry if I offended you, it's just that I have a keen eye for clothes and fashion sense. And no, I'm not saying that we should describe every outfit we see, but I just thought the main costumes needed some tweaking of description. [[User: Sailorusagichan Sailorusagichan 13:06, 13 April 2009 (MST)]] (Sorry, I'm still trying to get the hang of this thing.)
I'm not "offended" or anything of the sort. I'm trying to determine what needs to be in the wiki and what doesn't - there's absolutely nothing personal involved here.
That said, I personally don't see a reason for anyone but the main Sailor Senshi to have descriptions of their outfits, for reasons previously stated, and you're not really giving me any reason to change my mind. Do you have a reason for it beyond "I like fashion"? Kerochan no Miko 13:31, 13 April 2009 (MST)

Okay, I think you're onto something. The real reason why I added those descriptions in the first place was because for some villains, there were some noticeable variances in the designs of the main outfits compared to the anime, manga, PGSM, or the musicals. Not much of the Sailor Senshi have completely indentical uniforms compared to those four categories. Sailorusagichan (Sorry, I just don't have the proper instructions to do this! I give up!)

Do you think I should start the editing? I don't want to annoy anyone with all the details, but there are so many variances in the main villain costume appearances. Plus, some of the Phage and other monsters-of-the-day have appearance descriptions. Sailorusagichan 5:13 PM, August 19, 2009

...no, I don't. I thought the discussion ended with the understanding that costume descriptions weren't going to be added to articles, actually. Kerochan no Miko 16:35, 19 August 2009 (MST)
I'm sorry... I couldn't help myself. I give up. Sailorusagichan
If you're going to discuss, then discuss. If you're going to give up and then come back and assume everything will go your way without discussing, then I'm afraid that's not going to work for you. Kerochan no Miko 16:52, 19 August 2009 (MST)

Okay, guess you're right. I kept saying that there were noticeable variances in the villains' appearances and there were descriptions for most of the monsters-of -day characters. That's the REAL reason I put those posts in the first place, but you kept overlooking those facts even if I say them over again. This'll be the last time I say that. Sailorusagichan 9:37 AM, Aug. 20, 2009

I'm not overlooking anything, and if you're going to just keep accusing me of things for no reason then yes, this discussion is over.
I don't see descriptions for "most" of the MOTD characters, though a few of them have it. The thing is, those aren't descriptions of their costumes, but of them. And given that the youma/droids/lemures/whatever weren't human and look rather funny, there's a huge difference between a two-paragraph lovingly detailed description of someone's clothing and a one-sentence note that a youma looked like a humanoid purple-skinned lizard. Apples and oranges. Kerochan no Miko 12:37, 20 August 2009 (MST)
Okay, I'm sorry! T_T I'll just shut up if that's what you want... Sailorusagichan
Look, I'm not trying to yell at you, I'm not angry, I'm just utterly baffled why you bring this up for discussion and then bow out as soon as I disagree with you. Do you have a good reason or not? Kerochan no Miko 22:27, 20 August 2009 (MST)
I'm just really sensitive. I always feel that way whenever someone disagrees with my ways of bringing things up or any of my projects. I have been a bit of a help when I noticed that Sailor Moon did not have a description of what she looked like in the musicals (though I did need some help with accurately describing it. Thanks for that!) There's also a brief summary of Usagi in her civilian form between PGSM and the anime and manga, sort of like the descirptions of the MOTDs. Sailorusagichan
I don't want to put words in your mouth, Kerochan no Miko, but I think that what you're trying to say to Sailorusagichan is that the MOTD articles are for general information about the character. What do we want to know about the MOTDs? IMHO we want to know who was its goal/victim, what powers and abilities it possessed, who was its commander, how were they defeated... I you keep focusing in their costumes (a brief overall description works for me) the articles would became filled of unnecessary info; we can't have two lines about the Youma fighting the Senshi, and seven or eight lines describing its costume. Silver 15:28, 21 August 2009 (MST)
No, you've pretty much got it there, Silver. Thanks. ^^ Kerochan no Miko 15:40, 21 August 2009 (MST)

I'm pretty young and I'm still learning how to assert myself and stand up for my opinions. I'm sorry I didn't bring this up sooner, but my head was buzzing with this. Besides, I mistakingly thought everybody would like my attempts at describing the villains, but I guess that wasn't the case. I guess I'm the only one, other than Tim Gunn and other critics, who have an eye for that sort of thing. Sailorusagichan Aug. 21, 2009

One last thing before I go, I have noticed that the Dark Kingdom generals have descriptions of their uniforms. Of course, they had appeared in every incarnation of the series, so I might be overruled of that statement. Sailorusagichan 8:09 PM Sep. 9, 2009

Next Episode Preview

I know that these were added to the first season episode summaries, and I see that Silver 17 has started adding them to S summaries. But the last time this came up for discussion a looooong time ago I don't believe we ever reached a consensus on whether or not we should have them. Anyone have an opinion? (Personally, I don't see a reason to have them, partially since the content depends entirely on a translation and partially because...well, in my opinion they're kind of pointless/detract from the rest of the article.) Kerochan no Miko 11:46, 14 August 2009 (MST)

Well I saw the Next episode preview section in several of the episode summaries of the first season and I have some of the previews downloaded in my PC so I came up with the idea of adding them. Personally, I think they are a dispensable part of the summary articles, but I also consider some of the trivia notes unnecesary too. I would add them because as other user said in the previous discussion I think most of them are very funny (Epecially those of the first season with Usagi and Luna) and as not many Sailor Moon fans have ever seen them, in my opinion they might be an interesting extra info to read after the episode summary. By the way, I didn't know there were a discussion about this, otherwise I wouldn't have started adding them without deciding something first. --Silver 12:37, 14 August 2009 (MST)

I see another episode preview was added today, and it again brings up my concerns about translation sources. With the summaries it doesn't necessarily depend on the translation, because it's just what happened in the episode and not a transcript of what was said - but that's what the previews are, so if one person has a good translation and another person doesn't then the preview section would suffer.
Summarizing the tl;dr - I don't think we need that section. Does anyone else have an opinion? Kerochan no Miko 13:32, 28 September 2009 (MST)

If nobody else has an opinion, I'm just going to say we don't need them and start removing them accordingly. We have a hard enough time getting people to contribute episode summaries, and I'd rather we focus on those before anything else. Kerochan no Miko 22:25, 7 November 2009 (MST)

Okay, nobody said a word, so I've started taking them out as I find them. Kerochan no Miko 20:21, 30 November 2009 (MST)

Senshi of the Outer Solar System

I wonder why the article Senshi of the Outer Solar System is practically empty and the article Outer Senshi contains most of the info about the Senshi (i.e., mission, powers, talismans...). IMHO, since the "Senshi of the Outer Solar System" page is named after the official term, it should contain most of the information, while in "Outer Senshi" we should note that it is a fan-coined name and add an internal link to the other page. I know that we always use Outer Senshi because it's stupid that we have to type the whole name every time we want to refer to them, but I think it's the most correct. Silver 21:22, 26 August 2009 (MST)

That reminds me of the Sailor Senshi & Senshi articles here. lol --210 04:59, 27 August 2009 (MST)

Senshi Images

I wanted to include some images in the articles of the groups of Senshi.
These are beautiful images of the Inner and Outer Senshi from the ending of the episode 200.

innersenshi.jpg outersenshim.jpg

My questions are:
1) Do we need images in the articles?
2) In which article should I add them? (Inner Senshi/Senshi of the Four Guardian Deities, etc...) --Silver 00:45, 28 August 2009 (MST)

Yes, the articles need images. I don't know if I'd want to use those ones, though. Kerochan no Miko 01:06, 28 August 2009 (MST)
Why not? --Silver 01:10, 28 August 2009 (MST)
Because I personally don't feel they're the best representative images out there? Kerochan no Miko 02:15, 28 August 2009 (MST)
What image would you use, then? So I can look for it --Silver 02:18, 28 August 2009 (MST)

Trivia

Am I the only one who thinks there are too many trivia notes in some articles? Specially in the summaries of the anime episodes. I know a similar disccusion arose in the talk page of one of the PGSM summaries long ago, and the article ended up being protected. I know there's a note about Trivia in WikiMoon:Style guidelines, but maybe it should be expanded (a trivia policy would be too much Xd) to idicate what should and shouldn't be included. Quoting what people said back then in the PGSM discussion: necessary are "trivia notes not included in the main summary" and unnecesary is "stuff someone noticed". Am I overreacting, maybe? --Silver 03:10, 6 September 2009 (MST)

I think it's difficult to generalize into a few guidelines that can apply in the same way to all cases regarding trivia notes, which need to be considered on a case-by-case basis. Also, it's not the number of trivia notes, but the merit of them that matters. So I think if you've found any particular existing trivia notes that you think are unnecessary, just raise it on the respective talk pages. --210 07:29, 6 September 2009 (MST)
What 210 said - it has to do with what's in the notes, not how many of them there are. I'll look at the guidelines again and see if trivia needs any clarification, but yes, if you have issues with a specific episode just mention it on that talk page. Kerochan no Miko 09:15, 6 September 2009 (MST)
Ok then. Thank you, guys ^^ --Silver 09:32, 6 September 2009 (MST)

Repeat in attacks in the manga version?

Hi there,

I'm new here and i have a qustion or two about the powers of the Sailor shenshi.

In the anime the sailor shenshi use their old attacks even though they have new forms and stronger attacks. Do they also repeat old atacks in the manga??

My second question is: My favorite sailor shenshi is Sailor Mercury. In the anime you see that her attack Mercury Aqua Rhapsody shoots water at the enemy. In the manga you can't see it(shooting water). Or do i need my eyes checked???

Friendly regards,

1989Guardian

I think this type of questions are more appropriate for the Reference desk...
Anyway, yes, the Senshi can use their old attacks in the manga as well: In the Black Moon arc, Sailor Jupiter uses Flower Hurricane; Sailor Venus continues using Venus Love-Me Chain as her main attack, and also uses her Rolling Heart Vibration once; Sailor Moon also uses Moon Frisbee once in the same arc; Sailor Pluto uses Dead Scream in the Mugen arc (an attack she first used in the Black Moon arc); in the Dream arc, the Outer Senshi use their old attacks (World Shaking, Dead Scream, and Deep Submerger) after their (Planet) Crystal Power upgrades; in the same arc, Rei uses Akuryo Taisan. I hope that answered to your question.
As for the manga version of Mercury Aqua Rhapsody, look at this image from The Oracle. Silver 18:19, 20 February 2010 (MST)

Images:

If I want to add a screenshot to an episode, as you need some for Super S should I use an image hosting site or is there a way to upload them to the server? =[ --SailorAikou 18:12, 28 June 2010 (MST)

No, you have to upload them to a image hosting site like ImageShack or Photobucket. See WikiMoon:Images for more information. Silver 18:30, 28 June 2010 (MST)
Thanks, that's fine. I just wasn't sure as I know after a long time the images on those sites get erased. Maybe I will use a photobucket. --SailorAikou 19:40, 28 June 2010 (MST)
You can upload it to a free server and then I have the ability to upload it to the WikiMoon server later. It just isn't possible for users to do it through the web interface. Kerochan no Miko 21:54, 28 June 2010 (MST)

Image songs

I have a translation for Sailor Mercury "Ashita mo mata jitensha" song (there is no translation in the article) and can look for others. Can i just add it there or should send it to someone to be checked first? (This unsigned comment was left by Znahar, 6 January 2012)

If the translation is your own work you can simply upload it to the article. There is no post moderation on this wiki. Kerochan no Miko 23:23, 6 January 2012 (MST)
Sorry for delay, i had some connection problems. I made my own translation (i'm a beginner at japanese) and i have a translation found in net (with author's name of course). should i add them both or just one? Znahar 11 january 2012
If you're only a beginner then I would prefer that you not use this wiki for practice. And per style guidelines, you can not post a translation that isn't your own work without the express permission of said translator. Just posting it with their name is not sufficient. Kerochan no Miko 23:16, 10 January 2012 (MST)
Maybe I can send my translation to someone more skilled for cheking? Znahar 11 January 2012
Feel free to find an editor on your own, but there isn't a moderator of that kind for this site. Kerochan no Miko 12:47, 11 January 2012 (MST)

PGSM episode articles

I've noticed that PGSM episode articles often name characters before they're named in the show itself. For example, the article Act 1 - I am Sailor Moon! credits Mamoru Chiba and Jadeite, even though they're only named in later episodes. There is a precedent for articles on anime episodes obscuring character names: for example, Premonition of World's End? Mysterious New Senshi only lists the two new Senshi as "Mysterious Senshi" until they're named two episodes later. What to do with PGSM? - Sikon 06:23, 19 January 2012 (MST)
