Momoko Momohara was Chibiusa's best friend outside of the Sailor Senshi in the anime, manga, and Crystal. They both hung out with fellow classmate Kyuusuke Sarashina and, in the manga and Crystal, with an additional classmate, Gurio Sorano. In the manga her home was below a restaurant, and she loved to garden. In both the anime and manga, Momoko became the victim of the vampire Lilica Hubert, and was rescued by the Sailor Senshi. In the R season, she was possessed by Achiral and Chiral who made her hate Chibiusa, but she was healed by one of Chibiusa's "moonbeams." She was also targeted for her Dream Mirror in the SuperS season.
Trivia[edit]
- In the episodes of Sailor Moon R and Sailor Moon S in which she appeared, Momoko had brown hair. However, when she appeared in Sailor Moon SuperS, she was given purple hair, which was also her hair color in the manga and Crystal. This change of hair color in the anime has never been explained.
- She was often seen wearing a Chinese qipao.
- Although Momoko had speaking roles in Sailor Moon Crystal, her voice actress in that series was never given.
- Momoko played a significant part in the third chapter of the video game Sailor Moon: Another Story.
- In the first English dub of Sailor Moon R, DiC renamed Momoko to "Melissa." However, in the Cloverway dub of Sailor Moon S and Sailor Moon SuperS, she was named "Melanie" and nicknamed "Melly".
