Selkie was one of Loof Merrow's associates in the musical Shin Kaguya Shima Densetsu. She was one of the only survivors of the destruction of Artuka in ancient times.
When Coatl threatened the Earth 5,000 years ago, Princess Serenity gave Selkie a special dagger made from a fragment of the Silver Crystal. As long as she kept the dagger sheathed, it would keep her alive, but she never told Loof Merrow about it. When she was forced to use the dagger to attack Dark Mirror, she finally admitted the truth to her princess and died.
