Item Name[edit]

I finally got the actual name for this "bottle", which is a little different to the fan-sub version. The actual wording used in the episode is 影封じのつぼ Kagefuuji no Tsubo which roughly translates to "Urn of Sealed Shadows" or "Sealed Shadows Urn". It has nothing to do with Spirits and It's definitely not using the word for Bottle at all, so after going through various translations, I decided that "urn" suited the item (out of crock, vase, urn and jar) because of its connection with having a part of a person being held in it. If anyone can come up with a more fluent translation of it, please post it :) Hope we can finally get this old fan-sub translation behind us. ~ Fighter4luv 04:37, 25 January 2012 (MST)

"Spirit Sealing Bottle" is actually the name used in the ADV sub, so we're using an official English translation for the title of the article as per style guidelines. Kerochan no Miko 05:05, 25 January 2012 (MST)
When did ADV subtitle the SuperS Specials officially? Only Pioneer had licensing to do SuperS and they skipped them. ~ Fighter4luv 06:16, 25 January 2012 (MST)
Sorry, it was early. I'd been told the name for this article came from the official subs, but if there isn't an official translation then we should move this article to the romaji name. Kerochan no Miko 07:50, 25 January 2012 (MST)
If there was an official subtitled version, it must've snuck past me, coz I've never heard of it :) But moving it sounds like a plan, coz I think someone was confused when they told you that hehe :) ~ Fighter4luv 19:56, 25 January 2012 (MST)
That's entirely possible. Where did you find the kanji for the name? Kerochan no Miko
I went through the episode and got a friend to help me write down what the ventriloquist said. Coz I had seen the scene before with the fansub, and I knew it didn't sound like what he was saying, so finally made a new friend who is very good at translating, and he helped me with what was being said in the audio and we found that phrase "Kagefuuji no Tsubo" right in the scene.~ Fighter4luv 00:58, 26 January 2012 (MST)
Ah. Can't use that, then, because it isn't from an official source. Kerochan no Miko 10:29, 26 January 2012 (MST)
But it's from the actual episode itself... I also managed to find it here when we googled it: http://dpi.ii2.cc/horizon/text/index.html It's more official than any stupid fansub title. ~ Fighter4luv 20:47, 26 January 2012 (MST)
A fansite isn't any more official than a fansub, nor is what you hear. Site rules and guidelines say we can only use information found in official sources. So while it does need to be changed, what it is changed to depends on what canon information can be found. Kerochan no Miko 21:07, 26 January 2012 (MST)

Ahah, at last, an official spelling. Article should probably be moved to "Kagefuuji no Tsubo" now. Kerochan no Miko 06:15, 4 June 2012 (MST)

Just to make it clear, this is an official move proposal that the article be moved to Kagefuuji no Tsubo. Kerochan no Miko 20:35, 11 June 2012 (MST)
