Death Lamia was a villain from the Dracul arc of the Sailor Moon musicals, who appeared only in Shin / Henshin - Super Senshi e no Michi - Last Dracul Jokyoku. She was a vampire of well over six hundred years old and an acquaintance of Count Dracul, the leader of the vampires. She was the leader of the Death Nightmares, as well as the right-hand woman of Undead Berserk, who at the time possessed the body of Professor Tomoe. Her role was comparable to that of Kaolinite, in that she assisted the professor in his experiments and made sure to keep Hotaru out of the laboratory.

Death Lamia was portrayed as a beautiful and seductive woman with shoulder-length dark hair. She was very flirtatious with men, to the point of angering a jealous Usagi when Lamia touched Mamoru. She was particularly close to Undead Berserk, to the point that others mistakenly believed that they were married. She was also short tempered, and was shown to become defensive easily, such as when her abilities to complete her task were questioned.

Like all the Undead, Lamia was angry at humans for overrunning the Earth and acting as the superior species. She and Undead Berserk worked for a powerful being known as Death Vulcan, who instructed them to create perfect Homunculi in order to replace the human race. Lamia expressed both resentment and jealousy toward humans, as she envied their mortality and their ability to feel. She longed for the feeling of life, as emotions now seemed so far away for her, and above all, she missed the feeling of warm blood coursing through her veins. Her hatred of humans led her to ridicule Dracul's relationship with his human wife. She stated that while she seemed to have forgotten about her humanity, she merely pretended to. For this reason she was determined to trade place with the Sailor Senshi by taking all of their Star Seeds, the source of their vital energy, and drinking their blood.

Death Lamia had a passion for dreams, even referring to them as her "first husband." At the beginning of the musical, she used the Death Nightmares to walk in Usagi's dream in order to frighten her and make her believe that disaster would occur if she transformed into Sailor Moon. She later participated in Count Dracul's magic show at which Usagi, Mamoru, Chibiusa, Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako were present; her reason for being there was to steal Chibiusa's Star Seed, as she intended to use its power to give perfect souls to the Homunculi.

When the Senshi realized that she was an enemy, she used the fear she had instilled in Usagi to make her doubt herself long enough for Lamia to grab Chibiusa. However, she was stopped by the arrival of Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Pluto. After a brief fight she left with the rest of the villains, but warned Usagi that one must never doubt their dreams. She later met with the Count and begged him to join forces with them in order to build a new existence for their kind, because he was the only one with the power to awaken all the sleeping vampires. Dracul first rejected her offer, saying that humans did not exist for them, which angered Lamia, although she insisted that the new flawless artificial life they would soon create would change his mind.

Toward the end of the musical, Lamia was moved by Count Dracul's sacrifice to save Sailor Moon, Sailor Uranus' declaration to Sailor Neptune, and the desire of the Sailor Senshi to protect normal daily happiness, however short. When "Le Fay" left to fulfill Count Dracul's wishes, she ordered the other Nightmares to let her go because she had her own mission to accomplish, even though Le Fay had killed one of them in the process of escaping. Ultimately, Death Lamia gave up on her mission and stopped fighting. When Berserk went mad, she explained to the Sailor Senshi that he had become too dangerous and wild to control, and that there was nothing she could do to help them stop him, after which she left for good.

She was later mentioned in Transylvania no Mori, when Elizabeth Bathory said that traitors like her should be burned to death, to which Le Fay replied that Lamia had always stayed loyal to Count Dracul.

  • Death Lamia's name, her flirtatious nature, and her status as a vampire were all probably references to the mythological Lamia. Death Lamia herself said that she was as old as the age of myths.
