DiC was the company responsible for producing the English dub of the first season and Sailor Moon R. The company was founded as "DIC Audiovisuel" in Luxembourg in 1971; the title originally stood for "Diffusion, Information et Communication." The company was bought out by Andy Heyward in 1986, at which point the headquarters moved to the United States. Some of their other shows include Inspector Gadget, The Real Ghostbusters, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Voltron.

As of June 20, 2008, DiC merged with The Cookie Jar Group to form one large cartoon company known as Cookie Jar Entertainment.
