The weapon was made of stone but was capable of shattering diamond, and was the sword of the Moon Kingdom used by the Guardian Senshi to protect the Princess. It remained on the Moon after the destruction of the Silver Millennium, embedded in the floor of the Chamber of Prayer inside the Moon Castle.
After it was removed from its plinth in the Chamber of Prayer, it was wielded primarily by Sailor Venus, who used it to kill Queen Beryl. The sword was also used by Sailor Moon in her attempt to kill both Tuxedo Mask (in his evil form) and herself.
