JunJun was a member of the Amazoness Quartet, employed by the Dead Moon Circus. She was a tightrope walker at the Circus, and was the third sister of the Quartet. She seemed to be the most physical and athletic of the four, and used masculine pronouns when she spoke.

Anime[edit]

In the anime, the members of the Amazoness Quartet were residents of a jungle who awoke Queen Nehellenia as they were playing. As thanks for awakening her, Queen Nehellenia gave them the power to dream forever and always stay young, and gave them each an Amazon Stone to symbolize that power; JunJun had a green Amazon Stone. When the four of them were eventually given the choice to either help the Sailor Senshi or stay young forever, they chose to destroy their Amazon Stones and become adults.

JunJun would often help her targets fufill their dreams before she attacked them for their Dream Mirrors.

Attacks and Powers[edit]

As was characteristic of all four members of the Amazoness Quartet, JunJun used her Amazon Stone to perform attacks and magical commands.

  • Colliding Ball - This attack was used to remove a person's Dream Mirror.
  • Rolling Ball - JunJun made her Amazon Stone much larger and rolled it toward her target. In this attack's only appearance, she allowed it to be controlled by CereCere.
  • Through Ball - This command was used to pass through a solid object. In its only appearance, JunJun used it to get out of the mirror in which Queen Nehellenia had confined her.

After the Amazon Stones were given new power by Queen Nehellenia in episode 162, JunJun once performed an unnamed attack in which she hit a number of balls at the Sailor Senshi with a baseball bat. If the balls were not caught, they would explode on impact.

Manga[edit]

In the manga, the members of the Amazoness Quartet were in truth the members of the Sailor Quartet, those intended to protect Sailor Chibi Moon in the future. Queen Nehellenia found the sleeping Senshi and awoke them, forcing them to become her minions. Sailor Saturn saved them when the Dead Moon Circus was destroyed, and asked Neo-Queen Serenity to revive them. With the power of the Silver Crystal, the Queen returned them to their Senshi forms, and they resumed their interrupted slumber until they were needed in the future.

Attacks[edit]

As in the anime, JunJun used her Amazon Stone to perform her only attack.

  • Tama Gusuri (玉ぐすり) - Called "Gem Medicine" in the TokyoPop manga, "Orb Medicine" in the Kodansha manga, and "Powder and Sphere" in the Eternal Edition of the manga, this was JunJun's only attack command used in the manga. She used it against Sailor Saturn and Sailor Chibi Moon, but as it was immediately blocked by Sailor Saturn's Silence Wall, its actual effect is unknown.

Musicals[edit]

In the musicals, JunJun was one of four Homunculi who made up the Samael Quartet. She was portrayed by Hitomi Tomashino and Niki Ajima.

Mythology[edit]

JunJun's name comes from the asteroid Juno, which is named for the Roman goddess Juno, the queen of the gods.

Trivia[edit]

  • Even though Sailor Moon Eternal otherwise closely followed the manga storyline, in that continuity JunJun did not use the "Tama Gusuri" attack, as it was instead used by PallaPalla.
  • According to the Materials Collection, she had the darkest skin of the four sisters, and was the third tallest sister of the Amazoness Quartet. It said she used vulgar speech like a boy, and described her as a "yankee."
