The North Pole in real life refers to several different things, including the True North, Magnetic North, and Northern Pole of Inaccesibilty. In the Sailor Moon universe, it was near one of these (not specified which) that the Dark Kingdom headquarters D Point resided, beneath the Earth's surface.

In the video game Sailor Moon: Another Story, the North Pole was the location of the Earth Palace during the time of the Silver Millennium.
