  • When Sailor Moon first appeared in this episode, she made a reference to Attack No. 1, a famous anime series about volleyball.
  • In the original version, Professor Tomoe told Kaolinite his favorite sport was stair-stepping. In the English dub, he told her his favorite sport was "standing over his experiments."
  • The slogan on Haikyun's headband read "必勝!" (Certain victory!), but at several points it changed, depending on the situation, to "くやしい" (Annoying), "邪悪" (Wicked), "っびっくり!!" (Frightened!!) and "負け!" (Defeat!).
