Rhett Butler was an extremely large tomcat who had a crush on Luna. He was the reincarnation of Bakene, one of the Seven Great Youma, and was briefly transformed into his Youma form after Zoisite removed the Violet Rainbow Crystal from him.

Trivia

• Rhett Butler is named after the fictional character of the same name from Margaret Mitchell's famous novel, Gone with the Wind.

• Rhett Butler was the only Rainbow Crystal carrier that was not human.

• Even when transformed into his Youma form, Rhett Butler seemed to keep his mind intact, as he took no aggressive action and even saved Luna from falling.

• His English dub name, Hercules, was possibly a reference to his large size, as the mythological Hercules was a muscular character. His name in the Spanish dub was "Gatito Chico" (Little Kitten). In the Russian dub he was "Красный охотник" (Red Hunter). In the Polish version his name was "James Bond."
