No, I did not say that. I simply pointed out that fan translations aren't official names.

Another attack

While they are both very similar, as it often happens they have two different names; in the S and SuperS fighting game, it's called ginzuishou hatsudou: , while onegai ginzuishou , appears only in Various Emotion and the SuperS PlayStation game. What should the article for the other attack be called? Also, are the exclamation points really necessary, they only appear on one of the two and they are two of them after ginzuishou. --Sailorsimon 23:19, 10 March 2012 (MST)

This brings up an issue I hadn't considered yesterday but did bring up a few years ago - "Silver Crystal" is one of the articles using the English translation for a title, which means that if we don't use "Silver Crystal" in this article title then we're being inconsistent with that. Well not necessarily, since there is difference between the "Silver Crystal" as an object and this attack which undeniably has no official English translation. Also, while "silver crystal" is indeed a translation of Ginzuishou, in official canon material, the crystal is both sometimes called "Ginzuishou" or "Silver Crystal"(シルバー・クリスタル); both are official terms in at least the anime and the musicals since I distinctively remember them using both terms in both canon. "Silver Crystal" is also the official English name that Kodansha gives to this crystal is it not? This means that Silver Crystal is undeniably an official term. Ginzuishou is also an official term, but we had to choose one or the other so we went with the official one that was in English. We pretty much have the same for Galaxia's crystal; there is "Seikinseki" and "Saffer Crystal", both are official but we go with the English one because this an English wiki and when we have official English names they are the ones we use, this doesn't mean that the Japanese-related terms that are just as official loose their values (hence why we highlight both names in that term's article) and can't be used elsewhere; say in such a case like this where they are part of a larger term that has not been given an official English name and most likely never will. For example; if, hypothetically, the term "Ginzuishou" was used in a musical's title we would most likely let it as it is because that title would be the only official title there would be, given there is little chance to ever see the musical ever officially released in English. Basically, Ginzuishou and Silver Crystal are both perfectly official terms that are often used interchangeably in the original series itself. "Please! Silver Crystal!!" is an unofficial fan-translation of the official Japanese sentence "Onegai! Ginzuishou!!" and should therefore not be the one we use. --Sailorsimon 18:21, 11 March 2012 (MST)
