Mars Reiko was the stage name that Aino Minako gave to Hino Rei. Shouldn't she be called Reiko Mars, given the naming order used here? --Rosen 05:56, 5 September 2006 (MST)

The point is whether you consider "Mars" as a family/last name. If so, "Reiko Mars"; otherwise, the current ordering. I tend to lean on the latter. Opinions? 210 06:08, 5 September 2006 (MST)
"Reiko" doesn't sound to me as a family name... If you look at how names are pronounced in the series, people are consistently referred to as "Mizuno Ami", "Kuroki Mio" and so on in the dialogue, and Rei's nick is "Mars Reiko-san". --Rosen 06:32, 5 September 2006 (MST)
How does Minako introduce herself to her fans? Aino Minako or Minako Aino, if it is the former then it is likely Rei should be known as Reiko Mars (western format) but if it is the latter then she could be Mars Reiko (western format). However as Rosen says Reiko sounds more like a given name, I supsect Mars is supposed to be her family name. GracieLizzie 06:44, 5 September 2006 (MST)
The way Reiko is written, with a combination of katakana and kanji, looks very much like a given name to me. dooky 06:54, 5 September 2006 (MST)
Well レイ子 is a guess, I'm not sure it is written that way but given the fact that Rei uses レイ I thought レイ子 the most likely characters. GracieLizzie 07:10, 5 September 2006 (MST)
In any case, to my knowledge, 'Reiko' is only ever a given name. dooky 08:49, 5 September 2006 (MST)
