:Ah, I see. The only thing is, even though Yuri Tanima said that the names didn't match, she didn't make a proposal to move the article - that's when the count actually starts, because if there isn't a suggestion as to where someone wants to put the article, there really isn't anything to agree or disagree with. ::Yeah, at that stage it could simply be that the name in the article is incorrect - if so, no move would be needed. It's only later that we know it's the article title that's wrong. --210 21:33, 16 January 2010 (MST)

Was there anything in particular you wanted to chime in on? Not everything is completely set in stone, so it depends on the situation. And yeah, the Kodansha stuff keeps mixing things up, but they're releasing the volumes quickly enough that I hope it'll all be settled relatively soon. And that there won't be any more idiocy like that "Spark Ring Wide Pressure" business. 9_9 Es lo mismo de siempre, solamente quería explicar claramente. ("Quería" es correcto, sí? 210, do you know the meaning of this 風華招来? I think is romanized as fuuka shourai so I deduced the hiragana (ふうかしょうらい) but the resulting translation I got is even weirder that the kanji translation :( Silver 04:16, 10 August 2009 (MST)

::I think it's one of the spells used by a Card Captor Sakura character named Li. A friend of mine asked me to translate it for her, but I don't have idea of the meaning of this phrase either. I came up with the idea of asking you because I know that Li is Chinese and I supposed that maybe he used Chinese characters on his magic ;). I'll ask her to see if she can tell me anything else (I used to watch CCS, but when I was 11, so I don't remember anything about the series).Silver 07:08, 10 August 2009 (MST)

Yes, that news about Crayons creator was on the frontpage headlines of even the major newspapers over here - it's saddening to hear about that. I wish he's OK, tho that seems to be unlikely now. : ( There're also lots of rumors about his disappearance. --210 22:33, 18 September 2009 (MST)

:Yeah, I've also heard lots or rumors over here (accidents, kidnapping...). It caused a shock in Spanish fans because Shin-chan is very popular here, and Yoshito Usui traveled several times to Spain to present the release of Shin-chan video games and even to ask for the re-airing of the series in Spain due to numerous complains from Spanish fans when the series was going to be cancelled in Cataluña. Both the manga and the anime also included a special in which Shin-chan's family traveled to Barcelona. Honestly, I don't see a problem with the series, as he said in a Spanish anime documentary: "Sexual references are not the only component of Shin-chan. He's actually a very shy kid who doesn't know how to be himself, but he has a great heart and is always willing to help to the weakest". I love the series because it reflects in a very faithful, still funny, way the current Japanese society and traditions. They turn something so normal like a mother making onigiri or a kid taking a bath with her father into a hilarious episode/manga chapter. Anyway, I hope he's OK.--Silver 07:20, 19 September 2009 (MST)

::By the way 210 you are from China, aren't you? We talked about China today in English class and the teacher asked us about what are the things we like the most about China: some people said food, other said they like the traditional dances, another one said the clothes, and I said I like their difficult-as-hell-still-beautiful language ^^ --Silver 07:39, 15 October 2009 (MST)

:::Yes, the Chinese language is difficult even to ourselves (I can't say I'm good at it even tho I've studied Chinese language & literature lol), not to mention its so many regional versions (you may consider it like the various languages in the European continent, tho many of them aren't as different - at least in their written forms). An interesting thing is that the Japanese language is even more similar to some southern Chinese dialects than to the northern ones, despite the latter's relative geographical proximity to Japan. Of course, there's a (historical) reason for that rather than coincidence, but I won't elaborate it here. ^^ --210 23:00, 15 October 2009 (MST)

::::Well, if you really want to tell it to me... Just kidding ^^ And yes, is impossible to think about embrace all the language, but that's what makes it interesting to me - the harder, the better ^^ --Silver 13:49, 16 October 2009 (MST)

:::::It's just a long story that I'm too lazy to elaborate here - in a word, it's just a matter of migration. ^^ While you're learning Japanese, you're actually also learning a lot of Chinese at the same time (even tho it's just a fraction of the Chinese language). ; ) Moreover, it's even classical Chinese (I've studied the latter in the past). --210 20:54, 16 October 2009 (MST)

WikiMoon: Rules and Policies

Kerochan no Miko

I don't know anything about it, not being from Spain. Kerochan no Miko 14:05, 11 July 2009 (MST)

I'm not sure what you mean. The boxes follow a certain template which can't be changed, so the fields can't be changed, but the information in each field can be changed (as long as it fits with the style guidelines &c). Can you be more specific? Kerochan no Miko 10:58, 19 July 2009 (MST)

I deleted it last time because you weren't doing it correctly - instead of adding your userpage to a category, you broke the category page. If you want to be in the Wikimoonies in Europe category, you just need to put at the bottom of your userpage. (There is no Wikimoonies in Spain category.) Kerochan no Miko 15:58, 19 July 2009 (MST)

And I really don't know what you're talking about. Unless a discussion says that it's closed or something you can alawys post more. Kerochan no Miko 16:17, 19 July 2009 (MST)

Yes, I saw it. Kerochan no Miko 12:16, 27 July 2009 (MST)

The "stub" status has nothing to do with trivia notes - it's about the amount of information in the article. Kerochan no Miko 12:24, 27 July 2009 (MST)
Where? It's possible that they have all of (or enough of) the information that exists for that thing - character articles should be longer than, say, item articles. Kerochan no Miko 12:28, 27 July 2009 (MST)

What? Kerochan no Miko 00:24, 12 August 2009 (MST)

Why? Kerochan no Miko 00:35, 12 August 2009 (MST)
I still don't know what you mean by a "reference link." Kerochan no Miko 12:10, 12 August 2009 (MST)
If I'm not answering you quickly enough, you could try to look up the information yourself. Please don't harass me.

To do a reference link you encase the link in <ref> tags and put a <references/> tag at the end of the article. There are examples of it here, here, and here, amongst others. Kerochan no Miko 13:40, 13 August 2009 (MST)

Heh, if I recall correctly I actually ended up sysop here because I was admin-ing on Genvid, since this project was started by Jay from Genvid. ^^; I don't really read any other forums, though. Kerochan no Miko 11:34, 31 August 2009 (MST)

I believe we've been putting the spaces in as a standard for general articles (such as the attacks, for instance). The Shadow Galactica names, however, most definitely have the spaces, per the Materials Collection...except for Galaxia herself, Chi, and Phi, it looks like. Kerochan no Miko 13:47, 19 September 2009 (MST)

I'm just going by what the official sources say.... Kerochan no Miko 13:55, 19 September 2009 (MST)

¿Qué quiere saber usted? --Kerochan no Miko 16:55, 5 October 2009 (MST)

They were very big on using polite forms when I was in school, probably because that was the only way the teacher could get respect. ^^;
If you're trying to ask how many pounds someone weighs, it is always "how much do you weigh." The sentence "how much are you weighing at the moment" first of all sounds really weird, and second of all, even if it didn't, would mean that you're in the process of putting something on a scale in order to weigh it.
While, yes, if you're talking about doing something right now it would be that verb tense (like, "how much are you hurting at the moment" if you're talking to someone in pain would work) but that particular example is a really, really bad one because it just doesn't work that way when you're asking how fat or skinny someone is. I say your answer is right, and that speaking as someone who finished half of a college degree in English (before moving to history). Kerochan no Miko 12:22, 6 October 2009 (MST)
This highlights that grammar/syntax is always only part of the story - you need to also consider the context/semantics & even the wider socio-cultural references. In this particular case, the present continuous tense can be correct if the context is, as Kerochan said, that "you're in the process of putting something on a scale in order to weigh it," but not if it's just a question on how much your own body weigh. --210 21:37, 6 October 2009 (MST)

Congratulations! ^^ Kerochan no Miko 14:04, 9 October 2009 (MST)

Muchas gracias. ^^ ¡Feliz Navidad a ti también! Kerochan no Miko 16:20, 24 December 2009 (MST)

Silver 17, I realize that there were no objections to the move on the Steven Bednarski article, but a move proposal has to wait for at least 24 hours before anything is done and the time wasn't up yet (or else I would have done it myself). Please watch that in the future. Kerochan no Miko 13:27, 13 January 2010 (MST)

Ah, I see. The only thing is, even though Yuri Tanima said that the names didn't match, she didn't make a proposal to move the article - that's when the count actually starts, because if there isn't a suggestion as to where someone wants to put the article, there really isn't anything to agree or disagree with. Kerochan no Miko 19:34, 16 January 2010 (MST)
Yeah, at that stage it could simply be that the name in the article is incorrect - if so, no move would be needed. It's only later that we know it's the article title that's wrong. --210 21:33, 16 January 2010 (MST)

Was there anything in particular you wanted to chime in on? Not everything is completely set in stone, so it depends on the situation. ¡Feliz Navidad y próspero Año Nuevo, Silver! ^^

(Merry X'mas & a prosperous New Year, Silver! (?))--210 22:27, 24 December 2009 (MST)

Pertfectly translated ^^
But "prosperous New Year" sounds weird to me, maybe cos I'm used to the English "and a happy New". We use "prosperous" in Spain while in other Spanish-speaking countries they say feliz Año Nuevo ("happy New Year"). A friend of mine from Argentina told me once that próspero sounds more like if you were talking about money ^^; Silver 00:59, 25 December 2009 (MST)
Yeah, it does sound a bit like that, but it also parallels one of our well-wishing words in the Chinese New Year, which literally translates as "congrats for earning a fortune." lol --210 08:28, 25 December 2009 (MST)
Well, as they say, "money won't buy happiness, but it makes life rich" ^^ Actually my granddad told me that próspero was intented to wish good harvest to farmers after winter, and it became popular. Anyway, I love your Rika from the forum dressed up as Mrs. Claus ^^ --Silver 20:30, 25 December 2009 (MST)
Just in case if you haven't been aware of it, that Santa Rika pic is a thumbnail & you can click it to its original size. ^^ --210 21:10, 25 December 2009 (MST)
Yes, I knew, it's December ^^ But Usagi-claus doesn't look that sexy --Silver 23:53, 25 December 2009 (MST)

Garden Crystal

Silver 17, please don't erase messages on my talk page when you leave new ones. If I want to get rid of old messages, I will, but otherwise leave them alone.
As for your question, my understanding is that the Star Garden was a collection of Garden Crystals, which were in turn a collection of Sailor Crystals. It's kind of confusing, though. Kerochan no Miko 17:34, 19 August 2009 (MST)

Links

Yes, the Trivia sections are considered to be separate for the sake of links, just like the infobox. So, the same thing could be linked in the infobox, the summary, and the Trivia section. Kerochan no Miko 17:32, 20 August 2009 (MST)

Page Moves

No, moves can be done by anyone, as long as they follow procedure. I'm just usually the one who ends up doing them. Kerochan no Miko 22:09, 24 August 2009 (MST)

Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed it. ^^ You did it exactly right, too. Kerochan no Miko 01:07, 25 August 2009 (MST)

FYI

Just FYI, Shino1175 is a she. ; ) --210 22:25, 27 August 2009 (MST)

I think Shino1175's "Engrish" isn't too difficult to understand if you just read it like Japanese, i.e. from a Japanese perspective - I've had some conversations w/ her in English & haven't got difficulties in understanding what she said. ^^ --210 22:48, 27 August 2009 (MST)
gomenne...;_; what is a FYI? --Shino1175 06:23, 19 September 2009 (MST)
I think I'd answer that since it's me who said that in the 1st place - it's an abbreviation of "for your information." ; ) --210 06:30, 19 September 2009 (MST)

Page moves

Please don't move the manga articles that I said I would be taking care of. Kerochan no Miko 13:37, 12 April 2011 (MST)

Yeah, I just made the proposal on the main page for all of the chapters, like I did for the main manga... easier and less spammy than hitting every single article. Didn't mean to scare you or anything... ^^; Kerochan no Miko 21:49, 15 April 2011 (MST)

Moving articles is a complicated mess, I don't blame you. Kerochan no Miko 22:03, 15 April 2011 (MST)
