"One Week" by Barenaked Ladies refers to a song by the Canadian band Barenaked Ladies from their 1998 album Stunt, in which one verse makes a reference to Sailor Moon, in regards to the sexualization of female characters in anime. As far as the "boom anime babes" go, Sailor Moon is on the low end of the scale, but certainly a reference the average listener is more likely to get than most anime.

The parody of this song by Weird Al, "The Jerry Springer Show," was turned into a Sailor Moon anime music video called "Senshi on Springer."

Lyrics[edit]

Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon
Cause that cartoon has got the boom anime babes
That make me think the wrong thing
