Star Power Sticks were the second transformation items used by the Senshi of the Four Guardian Deities in the anime, manga, and Crystal. They were given to the Senshi by Luna.

In anime episode 143, they were upgraded to the Crystal Change Rods by Pegasus, granting the Senshi the ability to become "Super," while in manga Act 26, Neo-Queen Serenity gave the Guardian Senshi planet powers, which granted them the ability to transform without any item; from that point on, the Star Power Sticks were simply never used again. As Crystal closely followed the manga storyline, the same happened in the corresponding act of that series; however, in the subsequent season, the Guardian Senshi still used the Sticks with their planet power transformations. In Sailor Moon Eternal, Rei and Minako attempted to transform with Mars Star Power, Make Up and Venus Planet Power, Make Up, respectively, but did not use their Sticks. In all of those continuities, however, they were the last items to enable them to transform into their original sailor fuku.

Star Power Stick
in the anime

The term "Star Power Stick" is derived from the toy version of the item produced by Bandai. The items were never named specifically in the series, although the issue of Kodansha's TV Magazine for Sailor Moon R referred to them as a "Henshin Stick" (変身スティック), and the design sheet labelled them as "Henshin Pen" (変身ペン). The latter name was also used in the settei for the third season of Sailor Moon Crystal.
